I have to think about it. For me, it’s not a no-brainer either way.

I just wonder what do u guys expect we can achieve with Lillard and Embiid if we pull this trigger ?

No - because I don't rate Lillard. Way past his best.

However I do want to trade Maxey - just not for Dame. I think he is seriously overrated and Sixers should cash in before he gets found out.

what's to find out ? he's one of the fastest players in the league that shoots 43% percentage with more than enough volume. He has improved almost considerably every season he's been in the league. 4th year guards tend to make big jumps. is it that far fetched to expect an all-star season out of him?

now if this was a 28 year old Lillard, heck maybe even a 30 year old Lillard I would do that trade. But not for a 33 year old Lillard that doesn't even want to be here.

Straight up? Sure.

Maxey along with additional players and assets which is what it would take? Nope.

Yes, but no picks. And only if Morey can be sure that we can have some depth to build around Dame and Biid.

Just make the deal already. The Sixers are on course to detonation in two or three years. Once that happens, Maxey will be on his way out of town anyway.

Lillard can be talked into playing here I think. We know he’s thought about it. Embiid will just have to agree to let Dame be the alpha. That should be enough.

Lets live in the world of reality and understand that how the Sixers would look with Lillard would be a team weaker then the team that lost to the Celtics in the second round. It would be Harden and Maxey out and Lillard and maybe some marginal roleplayer. Considering Harden was a top 20 player during the regular season and Maxey a 20PPG scorer on excellent percentages and Lillard's age why exactly would you do that? So no.

Put me down for maybe, I mean the timing of it finally being possible couldn't be worse, but I do lean yes (selfish reasons) only because I want to be proven right or wrong about the pairing of him with Embiid being elite. (Yes a tier far above Embiid and Harden)

One off games when the other team hasn't really gameplanned for him. Wait until the pressure comes.

Was prime Lou Williams the man to build a team around? Because that's where I think Maxeys ceiling is, and that is the best comparison to him.
His best spot would be a regular 6th man of the league candidate, never going to lead a team anywhere. If Hinkey was still at the Sixers Maxey would be gone like MCW.

No, I would not trade Maxey for Lillard straight up.

To me, prime Lue Williams was never as good as Maxey is right now.
I’m trying be objective about Maxey.
The thing I love about him is his work ethic. He always surprise me with his improvements.

Lou Williams started off as a terrible long range shooter as a guard and while he was quick, he was not as quick as Maxey. Maxeys quickness & shooting range is a deadly combination.. Smart money says Maxey improves his iso/playmaking game.

Dame’s contract looks meh down the road. He can be good for a couple of years but him and Embiid are not getting past Boston or Mil or Miami.


People are missing the point. The KEY is for Embiid to change his playing style. If he still operates from the elbow, Jordan can’t save him.
