No Embiid but it really shouldn't matter. I think we're better than this team. Miami, like us, has feasted on bad teams but it's only an issue when we do it lol. I think this is a good test for Maxey to see how one of the better basketball minds in this league game plans against him and how he counters it. Will Jimmy Play? He's probably ducking Tobias Harris if he doesn't play

If there was ever another game for Tobias to ball out it's this one.

Oh and I guess the Embiid ankle situation is worse than I thought. He always does this to us. He'll finish a game injured and then get shelved afterward. He's done this to us many many times now throughout his career. I hope this is just precautionary/maintenance because we need him healthy when it matters the most. To Hell with this MVP 30/10 crap. It means nothing if he can't do it for us in the playoffs.

As for the game itself, I think we can hang with them even without Jo. Paul Reed matches up nicely with Bam. Jimmy will be tough to stop as usual, but I think this should be a competitive game. Some pretty cool individual matchups and storylines for this one. For one how does Tobias perform? Does he shrink or does he play with motivation? Our wings guarding Butler will be fun. Pat Bev vrs Kyle Lowry ought to be a heated exchange. I look for Maxey and Herro to go at it a bit too. I'm curious to see if Miami puts length on Maxey to try and throw him off. They've got Josh Richardson who is a decent defender. We might even see Caleb Martin on Maxey at some point. That's been the only thing that has slowed Maxey down thus far. Athletic players that have length and can stay in front of him.

Hopefully Maxey balls out and grabs the win. Could be a real statement game for him.

Feels kinda typical for a sprained ankle. Don't really know how much it's gonna swell up on you until later. Silly that he continued to play on it, particularly at the end when it seemed like the game was wrapped up and he was trying to hit those numbers, but I doubt that changed the severity of the injury.

Good for him though getting to stay home with his family on Christmas. Hopefully it's just a one game thing.

low key glad now I can enjoy my christmas no matter the outcome lol.

Bad game for Maxey to be off with his shot

Tobias needs possesions to get into a rhythm and flow...the issue is that so does Biid...and he's better at it.

Maxey's best strength is that he can get going off a 3 or a break out attempt. That makes him a perfect sidekick or go to option because it can come at a moments notice.
