Official 2024 Buyouts Thread

Right now we only have 12 players on the roster after the deadline. I believe we are required to have 14, which means at least two players must be signed.

Who will it be? Some candidates:

Guards: Lowry, Dinwiddie

Forwards: Gallinari, J. Harris, Young

Which 2 (or more) guys do you think we sign?

At this point Gallo and Lowry would be my targets. Dinwiddie quit on his team this year and while he could suddenly turn it around I am wary. We picked up Darius Bazely for Delaware earlier in the year, he could be someone we add as another wing defender for that third spot we have open. Wing defenders are not the sort who get cut this time of year.

I want Spencer & Young. I want guys who are switchable on defense and can play multiple positions. No more shorties or complete liabilities on defense. I was looking up available big men and I couldn't believe Demarcus Cousins is only 33 years old. Have injuries ruined his game that much or is it an attitude/ego thing with him?

If you guys got Lowry would he play over Cam Payne?

We haven’t seen either play a minute for the Sixers yet, so I don’t think we’re the authority on the matter. I assume if Lowry chooses to sign here, he’ll want guaranteed playing time though.

I assume it's going to be Lowry and a washed up C. Let's call it Robin Lopez.

These buyouts suck. The Sixers are punting on the year deal with it. We are going to be 7 or more in the playoffs seeding. We have something like at least 10 games left against Boston, Milwaukee, new York, and Cleveland we may lose all of them. The time to do something meaningful was yesterday and we added two average players. I'm not sure cam Payne is an upgrade from Beverley he is just better on offense and way worse on d. Heield is a good high volume 3 pt shooter and mediocre to bad at everything else

Bismack Biyombo is still out there for the taking. People are mentioning Robin Lopez as an option and that's stupid because Biyombo is literally just waiting for a phone call. Solves our rebounding issues right away. I would absolutely fill one of our roster spots with him.

Yeah...Maybe it's time for you to take a little timeout then from the team and the forum huh? Get some ice cream and chill bro.

Don’t know how much they can still play, but rumored that Bertans and Seth Curry could be available. I believe both are with Charlotte.

Fine with Biyombo too. My point simply was one of their roster spots is going to go to a mediocre/old/washed big. See: Jordan, DeAndre and Dedmon, Dewayne.

Would Curry be redundant with Hield?

My bad bro, I meant no disrespect by that. Apologies.

Yeah. Prob not enough room for two undersized, poor defending snipers. Joe Harris might be a decent fit.

All good.

It would be nice if Morey took a swing with one of these roster spots and wasn't just satisfied with Lowry and Biyombo types. I think they have about 4M to play with.

If Galo can still play after his major injury, he’d be a good pick-up and a viable alternative if Batum isn’t available. He was a nuisance during that Hawks series.

If we are gonna find some guys who can contribute in postseason it should be Lowry and Biyombo then you hand the last spot to Smith or Council

This is the way board issues should be handled, my apologies to both of you guys for brief misunderstandings a while ago. It's very clear who the dedicated posters/ fans are-- disagreements can happen, but we tend to be excited and frustrated by similar things.
