Guys, it was a dirty play lol. Whether or not he should have been elected is another issue. We were calling the Siakum elbow to Jo’s face a dirty play and that was very clearly a basketball move. What Jo did last night was not a basketball play; grabbing a guys legs while he is in the air is never OK. If that play had happened to Embiid last might, Mitchell would have needed a police escort out of Wells Fargo.
always a jump shot away.

I personally think Embiid should be more dirty. The guy can be a model citizen and people will still find something to dislike about him. I like this balls to the wall Embiid. Give them something to really complain about

Not to change the subject, but can Tobias Harris and Buddy Hield show up for at least 1 game? I mean is it possible? Harris has been one of the worst contracts this franchise has ever seen. What does he do? Where is the assassin mentality? Where is the sharpshooting? Can he actually back a defender down in the playoffs? I think Brunson could hold his ground against him. And Hield, for real? This guy has hit 1 shot through this series so far. If he is streaky, where is the streak? Is it coming? Can we get at least one good game out of these two?

I agree it was a dirty play. And he rightfully got a Flagrant-1 for it. That's the end of it except for endless crying, b!tching and whining from salty knicks fans and Embiid haters. All of whom can suck it.

I'm very happy the team rocked up for a knife fight in Game 3. It will take that kind of effort to win this series since the Knicks are a scrappy physical team that uses those tactics to overcome a talent deficit.

Can't let them outphysical us. They want the bull they get the horns.

I agree it was a dirty play and objectively think it was probably a flagrant 2, which makes me disappointed in Embiid for risking ejection in such a pivotal game and not caring. But I'll take the no call because of the horse **** end to game 2.

I think that the other things he did like the leg kick nuts shot was uncalled for. Honestly never seen Embiid so in his feelings like this game and it just comes across as him seeming very psychologically damaged from how much hate he gets on twitter and the playoff choking narrative.

I also think that Siakam is a dirty bum who intentionally elbowed Embiid FWIW.

Subjectively I could see a Flagrant-2. However, Donte DiVincenzo pulled an even more dirty leg lock takedown on Kelly Oubre in an earlier game this season and only got a technical foul. Based on that precedent, Flagrant-1 is objectively the correct call.

Not blaming our loss on that play. But if roles were reversed, would you not want Mitchell Robinson suspended?

No, absolutely not. I'd understand if he was but it's f'ing stupid to have stuff like that determine a competitive series. The NBA should try some steps so that stuff doesn't keep happening or escalating but that's it for now. It's not like it's a Draymond thing where Embiid or Robinson is constantly crossing lines and gunning to injure players, let em play on.

Like I just wrote above, this type of thing is the lamest thing a sports fan can advocate for. Pretend like we're all made of glass, or that we must assert some morality or the integrity of the game is at stake etc. Weak to ask for gritty intense competition and then turn into a shocked and offended school marm when something like this happens.

Are you saying that people shouldn't have opinions? I don't think Embiid's a dirty player. I think it was a dirty play. It was reckless and dumb. I've been rooting for the Sixers since their first year in Philadelphia. And I don't read the general board.

Honestly, Embiid is a great ball player and fun to watch when he's on, but he can be hard to cheer for because of the front-running, flopping, woe-is-me act and, yes, occasional dirty play. I'm still riding with him no matter what, but last night's foul was exhibit A of why a lot of people don't like Embiid.

I think it should have been a flagrant 2 and probably a game suspension. It was a deliberate, non-basketball play with a high chance of causing an injury. But just like we saw with the officiating at the end of game 2, the rule book is interpreted differently in the playoffs (and if we're honest, interpreted differently for star players too).

What surprises me most is that Embiid turned it around majorly after that play and ended up with 50 points. Typically when he does something like that it foreshadows (or happens in the middle of) a night of whining and feeling sorry for himself.

Anyways, he's having a great series, especially considering he might lose a limb or an eyeball by the end of it. Hard to criticize the whole package of what we've seen so far, when you put it in context.

Exactly. The Knicks are a dirty team and the bully just got punched in the mouth. Now they’re crying like bullies that got whipped always do.

That is exactly how I see it. You phrased it perfectly. With that being said, I truly love this brand of basketball, but I'm old school. This series has been a straight up brawl between two hard nosed cities and it's been awesome. The Knicks fans are great. I love it! Straight up vicious fan base, same as ours. I'm damn sure going to stay off the GB for the time being, but this has been hands down the best series in the playoffs so far.

The Sixers/Knicks playoff thread on the GB has been like 10 pages straight of Knicks fans complaining Embiid intentionally hurt Robinson. Not worth discussing anything with the other fanbase right now.

The Knicks know how to defend Tobias (at this point all teams do, just get a little physical with him). I was wrong to think that he might have an impact in this series. Hield isn't getting enough time out there to find a rhythm. I think Payne is the better option going forward because he doesn't need to find a rhythm. He seems instantly ready when and wherever. I think it's the matchup with Tobias and Hield. They just don't fit it. That, and Tobias might already be checked out.

Yeah I agree, I noticed that last night. Some of those primitives over there were even suggesting diving at Embiids knees to injured him.

even though I'm guilty from it time to time, I wish sixers fans would all leave the GB and let it just be an echo chamber of hate. it will stop without our responses and they'll start venturing to our board instead

Honestly I'd do it if we had more posts on the Sixers board. This place has been a ghost town the last 5-10 years. Used to be pumpin.
