You'll love Cooper Flagg. Simply because he made Bradford Lee Beal butthurt at a youth camp.

https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2023/08/02/bradley-beal-cooper-flagg-allegedly-had-heated-one-on-one-battle

Flagg was “busting” Beal in the one-on-one matchup, and talked enough trash that Beal “started cussing him out.”

Hype train full speed ahead.

As soon as the gym doors opened to reporters, though, Flagg drew chuckles and gasps by taking over the scrimmage with an 11-point flurry to lead a select team comeback. The 39-year-old James, who knows a hoops prodigy when he sees one, sought out Flagg for a congratulatory pat on the butt after the national team barely held on for a 74-73 victory.

“He looks like a hell of a player,” said Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant, who was sidelined for the scrimmage with a calf injury. “He’s 17 years old coming in here playing like a [veteran] almost. No emotion. Just going out there and doing his job. That’s a good sign.”

Of the top 8 or so teams the only two I want to see him go to would be Chicago or Wizards.

Any returning sophomores you are keeping a close on on?

Flagg looks like a special player. I hope he stays healthy.

Hard for me to get excited about this, as it stands we don't have a pick. I don't know about the protections and such though.

I think Mackenzie Mgbako might be my favorite returning player entering his sophomore year.

Watch on YouTube

He's got the 5 star pedigree, he has tremendous size at 6'8", and he scores buckets at all three levels.

Still haven't done the deeper dive, but I really think Brandon Garrison at UK is going to blow up this year. His stats suggest he's a complete player at the 5 and his shot form looks really solid. Fluid athlete but not terribly explosive. The problem will be that Pope will probably start Amari Williams which will dig into Garrison's minutes.

No retirement by any coach that has been around more than ten years will surprise me at all. It's a matter of how much money is it worth to spend most of your time begging for money and bidding for the services of 17-18 year old kids, and re-recruiting your roster every season?

Yeah, coaching any sport in college has become an awful job. Don't understand the timing, though.

I'm going to be watching Rutgers all year. Whoever loses the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes will be in great hands with Ace Bailey.

I can see that. Funnily enough, he also kind of reminds me of Derek Harper, even though his dad is Ron.

@Negrodamus

I know the season hasn't started yet, but do you like Cooper Flagg or Ace Bailey better?

TBH, I'm always looking for the Jordan archetype so I'm hoping Bailey is the next one.
