Welcome Trendon Watford

Since nobody made a thread for him yet, here it is. Good cheap signing to fill a position of need. I assume this means Yabu's time in Philly is all but over.

Here are 8 minutes of Watford highlights.

I remember his older brother Christian hitting a buzzer beater against Kentucky years ago. Probably one of the better college games I've watched.

Excellent no risk pickup with potential upside at a position of need. These are the kinds of moves we should be making right now.

Morey has knocked it out of the park so far this off season.

I like that he signed someone that Maxey likes - probably a good locker room fit that works hard. I can't imagine spending 4 years in Portland and Brooklyn. He's probably thrilled to play for a team that could at least compete (Hopefully...)

has always been one of my least favorite prospects/players but it's a good signing given size/skillset for this roster

Interesting. I wonder if Maxey has been allowed input in terms of roster construction or at the very least is actively recruiting players to sign here.

Looks pretty solid, legitimately big with solid mobility and skill set.

Anyone know how his passing and defending in space/from perimeter is?

Are we planning on starting Watford? He's always been a reserve for the most part. I like his downhill game. He should be able to draw a number of foul attempts with how he plays.

I still think Oubre will start.

No way they're starting Watford barring health issues, at least off the bat.

Watford's best qualities are his scoring and his passing. Those qualities would be dimmed in the starting lineup with other guys ahead of him in the pecking order.

Is there an opportunity to succeed in Philadelphia compared to Portland for three years? All the things you can do are on full display in Philly. There are some competing factors: Offense, Defense, Ballhandling, Footspeed, and Court Awareness. As a utility player are you ready to showcase these skills even if you can do them on a modest level. You have put in time in the NBA and here comes the turning point have you improved. The 76ers front court could use some depth that is dependable. Are you the complimentary piece that is versatile and can work with Paul George, Kelley Oubre, Embiid, Drummond or other combinations. Having an inside outside game, good offensive and defensive skills brings a very welcoming to this organization. Do the hard work and be disciplined there can be a good pay coming here or elsewhere.

If Watford isn't inspired to succeed here after that, I'm not sure what could do it.
