When Was The Last Time The Sixers Had a Legit PF?

Seems like ages ago. During the Iverson era, it was Hill, who was one dimensional but adequate at the time, followed by a hobbled under-achieving Coleman, followed by an undersized Marc Jackson, followed by a gimpy Webber, followed by another undersized and one dimensional Reggie Evans. I'm sure I'm probably leaving out some great performers along the way. :noway: Point is, how friggin hard is it to find just one above average PF in this league? There are teams like Detroit who have backup 4's (McDyes) who are better than our starting PF. At what point will management finally put us in a position to get a quality PF without too much mileage or coming off a major injury?

It looks like Barkley was the last franchise PF we had. That was what 14-15 years ago? We won't win anything until we have someone that can man the post .

Barkley...everyone else was pretty limited. Hill/Theo were solid, but nothing spectacular.

Most of those guys you listed were above average during their time here.

If you mean you would like to know how hard is it to get an elite PF, the answer is really hard.

A big in general is crucial to any team's success in this league. Mutombo was the last pretty good big we've had in recent memory which coincides with the last time we've had any type of success.

With a lack of quality centers in this league combined with us having a serviceable center in Dalambert, I think Stefanski needs to aim hard for that PF...Elton Brand

If we didn't have an incompetent general manager we would probably have one on our roster right now. Yi or Horford.

Cwebb. hah, he was supposed to be the answer.

DC had a good year at PF for us.

How do you guys like Zach Randolph? 20 and 10 guy....perfect compliment to Dally's game.

drags down every team he has been on. no D. He left Tom Izzo too early to learn how to be a complete player.

Horford excited me alot more than yi. If we had him, we would be in good shape for rebuilding. Or if that Boozer for Iverson deal went thru, we wouldnt be lookin too bad either.

Dang....you guys can't be fooled. :-?

No but really....I think with the right guy next to him in the front court....he'd be huge for any team. Dally is the perfect guy to put next to him. I would actually do a Curry for Dally trade if I wasn't fiending for a complete rebuild....but considering the season Sam is having, I doubt you guys do that either.

I was thinking this might be a nice trade for both sides...

Zach Randolph and Renaldo Balkman
for
Andre Miller and Reggie Evans

Evans' contract runs the same length as Zach's even though it's considerably cheaper....you guys find a taker for Miller and get a nice return which is a 20 and 10 PF.

Your lineup would be pretty nasty-

Dally
Zach
Balkman
Iggy
Louis

Pretty balanced. If Mo can get them to play together in a system....you guys would have a real nice team. Still have Thad coming up too to compete with Balkman for minutes.

Change Zack to Curry and I think Id have to think about it. But really, the only player I want on the Knicks is Dave

Randolph has prob outplayed Curry thus far this season, but Curry makes a good chunk less cash.
