Earlier this season, Andre Iguodala turned down a reported $57 million contract extension, but the source of his frustration appears to be the losing, and now he seems to be beaten down by it.

"Because Andre [has been] one of the most talented players on this team and [has] stepped up and taken the leadership role, he feels accountable, and that is a very good leader," said Willie Green, who scored a team high of 18 points, shooting 7 for 19 from the field. "You can see it in his body language. He is frustrated being in this slump as a team, but all of us are."

Recently, Iguodala has been seen sniping at teammates. He also is one of the more animated complainers when talking to officials.

"I am just upset we are not playing up to our ability late in games," Iguodala said. "There are times where we are down in the game mentally, and it's just tough. It's tough losing." [READ]

I like how Iggy is showing he is the leader and but he does complain to the officials a lot, I hope he isn't like Iverson. I hated how Iverson on plays will sit there and complain and cost us on D.

I'm fine with this when you consider that that this team is loaded with garbage players who need to come out and be on top of their games in order to compete. If Mo is keeping these guys on their toes, a leader needs to step up and stay on these guys. Andre Miller doesn't seem like the type of person to raise his voice over a whisper.

Andre Iguodala is not good enough to yell at his teammates. Going 5-13 with 5 TOs (stats from last night) doesn't give him any reason to look at anyone but himself.
Shut your mouth and lead by example first if you want to be a leader.

I disagree. Iguodala is more than good enough to yell at his teammates.
I agree that he should lead by example, perhaps being more aggressive, and commanding more shots, but he cares, so that's what really matters.

It's good to see that he's showing his emotion on the court. Hopefully this influences his teammates to work harder and pick up their games.

Young has picked up the slack lately. Let's see who steps up to the plate next.

Silly Green has no business being in at the end of close games, which is on Mo.

I agree completely with phiphan...when you want to be paid MAJOR $$$ (which Iguodala wants, based on the contract he turned down this summer), you had better lead by example before you rag on your teammates. Jeez...if anybody had the right to get frustrated at his teammates, it was Iverson, and he rarely threw his teammates under the bus.

Welcome to the land of the max-contract-player-wannabe, Andre....

And this isn't about whether he deserves the money...or whether I want to see him traded...it's about having to be the MAN every single night (or at 7 out of 10 nights...a ratio that Iguodala has fallen well short of this season, IMO). Until he can go out there with a LOT greater frequency than he does and justify the money he feels he deserves, he can take that "sniping" and stick it up his azz.

I understand that he gets frustrated with his teammates, but until he starts playing - on a more consistent basis - like his sh*t don't stink, he should keep it to himself.

Until I read reports that his teammates are unhappy with him getting after them or until I read that the coaching staff has a problem with it or until I read something from someone in the Sixers' organization where they say this is a problem... I don't care.

Were doesn't he lead by example? Pointing to last night's game as an example seems thin.

It is absurd to think that anything positive will come from Andre snipping at his teammates during a game. That's just not something that should EVER be done. I don't care how good you are or how bad the other guy is, you don't do it DURING a game. If you want to talk to guys after the game, in practice, or whatever, about a play or situation, then fine, but you don't show up your teammates in the public eye.

All that is going to cause is friction between the two guys and the rest of the players. I highly doubt that two guys will get closer as teammates cause you made faces at him over the fact that he didn't catch a pass or took a bad shot. If I was a coach, I would immediately bench a guy for showing up his teammates on the floor. There's a time and place for everything and Andre is clearly in the wrong on this issue.

Based on what I observed in Denver the other night, Iguodala has every reason to be frustrated with both Reggie Evans and Willie Green. Evans and Green seemed more interested in getting theirs than they did getting the ball to a better player like Iguodala.

Has there been any reports from an "unnamed source" saying that ANY current Sixer player has a problem with Iguodala's attitude???

This seems like a non-story in a market that is starving for something to keep an interest in it's professional basketball team.

I agree with this. If Andre would limit it to skipping out on the press conferences, it would be alright because that does enough to show his frustration. But imo he's crossing the line when he openly shows his frustration towards some of his teammates whether it be rolling his eyes after certain plays or whatever it may be. You never see any superstars/team leaders doing that on the court.

Do you really think other players are going to go public with the fact they are upset at Andre (assuming they are)? I highly doubt you would see anyone do that. That doesn't mean there isn't animosity between him and others. Just might means they are throwing you the company line by saying everything is OK.

Do I expect any players to come out? No. But as I said, there are plenty of "unnamed sources" out there who certainly could relay their feelings which is what happens just about everytime some player has an issue with his teammate.

Either way... I'm not a fan of soap operas or the gossip column so this sort of thing really isn't my cup of tea.

About a month or so ago a report came out that Andre was acting worse than Iverson ever did in Philly.

I think just about everybody, fans included are frustrated with them, especially Green, but that doesn't give Andre the right to show his frustration towards them during games.

sniping was the reporter's word. if someone misses an assignment, Iggy should let them know.
