I proposed this trade in the trade forum, and originally though it was maybe bad for Toronto, but some guys thought otherwise. This is what
I originally wrote:I don't think it's as good a deal for Toronto, so maybe the right to swap 08 or 09 picks should be added or something along those lines. However, the truth is they'd besome instant contenders for the east along the lines of Boston and Detroit with this deal. They do a quick fix for their backup PG, with two expiring so no harm done and the rights to an overseas player (big 6'11 shooter).
With this deal Toronto could become the deepest team in the east. I think they may be giving too much, but for those Raps fans that want Dalembert in Toronto, I think this is what it would take to actually land him there. On the other hand, Phily gets a couple of young guys to keep building around Andre I & M.
Thoughts???
and I really think Philly would at the very least consider a trade like this. I really think a guy like Bargnani would thrive playing alongside Iggy, and would blossom into a better version of Nowitzki. He has been limited in Toronto because of Bosh (playing basically his position) and their more of a win-now mentality as opposed to developing players, and not only would you guys get Bargs, but TJ Ford who in the very worse could be a good tradeable asset to keep building upward.
