Why did we let Korver Go??????

The Sixers have gone down hill since we gave a way Korver for nothing. We won only two games, no longer have a 3 pt shooter and our team looks ragged. We also have no foul shooter.

What good are our so salled "athletes" if they can't play. Meanwhile the Jazz have won most of their games since the trade.

There have been many players in the NBA who were not great athletes., but they knew how to play.

4and a 1/2 million dollars plus their pick will not do the trick.

Korver is only shooting .318% from 3 point land in Utah. He's just not good enough to get worked up over.

didn't you just post this? We get it. You don't like the trade. We tried to tell you before that it has nothing to do with winning this season. The team's success (or lack of it) since your last post on the topic is irrelevant.

Korver was moved so Thaddeus Young can play. So far, so good from here.

Korver's not been that great in Utah anyways. It's not like he's the reason that the team is winning now. Boozer and Co. are now stepping up because it's going to be very tough to make the playoffs in the West. I think 45 wins won't cut it over there.

KK on the Jazz is potentially much more valuable than KK on the rebuilding Sixers. Take a second round flier on Lofton or Carter to regain a 3 pt specialist, but gaining the cap space and draft pick was a great move. We all like KK, but it was a no brainer.

Plus, with the addition of Utah's #1 in 2009, the Sixers can now trade picks in the next 3 drafts.

Exactly, the move also allows us to hang onto Miller, which I think would pay dividends if we do bring in a post presence this summer. Korver is a good role player and a good guy to have on any team, but our cap situation certainly made him expendable.

The trade made the Sixers take a step back in the short term, but in the long run provides the following advantages.

- Winning less this season makes our own draft pick that much better.

- Thad gets more playing time and gets developed quicker and he'll be starting soon enough.

- Now we have ~10 million to throw at potential free agents

- An additional first round pick

Korver was move because of the cap space and the pick.

But it will be ridiculous on the Sixers if they dont follow up trading for another additional cap space because it might turn the Korver deal a bad one for them.

Jazz fan here, just thought I'd let you know Korver has shot 46% from 3 in the last 5 games, and his FG% is a career high 48% with Utah so far. He's averaging more points than he ever has with you, and he had 17 tonight in Houston, including 2 fourth quarter 3s which won the game for the Jazz.

Just admit you got owned in this trade. Have fun with Elton Brand next season though.

Um, how do we get owned when we are trading for an expiring? We wanted to get rid of his contract so we gave him to you. That's not being owned, its being generous.

Thats like saying the Suns were "owned" when trhey trade away a late 1st round pick for cash.

BTW, KK had many 20 pt games for us- he wasn't some hidden gem Utah uncovered who was languishing on our bench. We needed to clear 4.5M more next year to make another move. He's a fun playuer to watch- enjoy.

If you had any CLASS...and if you had spent some time reading the threads around here about Korver and the trade (instead of just slinging smack), you wound know that - for the most part - we think Korver is a good guy and a GREAT shooter...but for a rebuilding team, Korver and his one-dimensional game are a luxury that we just can't afford. He's a good guy...a hard worker...but he has limited lateral mobility on defense, a complete inability to break people down from the wing with the dribble...

On the Jazz - a team with Williams, Boozer and others that must be paid attention to on the floor - Korver will get open looks, and should help you guys. We needed the cap space, and the future pick won't hurt.

This is a trade that gives both clubs something.

BTW, have fun losing in the first round - that is, if you even make the playoffs.

It was time for Korver to move on. We had our first round draft pick who was ready for more pt. We got extra cap space and a 1st rounder out of it. Not even close to being owned but nice try.

He's averaging 10.4 ppg with you. I'm pretty sure he did better than that the previous 3 years consecutively with us.

we let Korver go because there is a chance that with the capspace we gained we can land a premier player in this league, which korver is not.
