He's the only big that knows how to set a high screen. He's the only big that actually tries to rotate on D. He's the only big that runs both ends of the floor.
And he was the 5th big into the game today.
Wanna get drunk real fast?
Drink a shot for every high screen that Dalembert and Evans set where they only draw air.

You pretend as if he is some star that "deserves better"
The guy, at this point, wouldn't get this kind of playing time on a lot of other teams.

Not a star.
But he deserves better based upon recent performance.

I think Jason Smith has a lot of flaws in his game, and a lot that are going to prevent him from ever being a starter. But I will say he's probably our most fundamentally sound big. The point about the picks are absolutely right.

thad has been playing well recently. Therefor we need to trade him. He sould not play for a team that is going to lose this year. You know what if we are going to trade thad and smith why not trade our entire team they all deserve better. This is a stupid topic, it makes no sence to me.

Someone who wants to be a Jason Smith fan instead of a Sixer fan...
Why don't you just write him a fan letter and maybe he'll send you a signed picture or something. You can hang it on your wall or perhaps build a small shrine
Maybe he'll send you some Kleenex too.

Looking back right now on that Cook-Smith trade, I think Smith is the better fit on this team. How come the Sixers gave up a 2009 2nd round pick and Cook for him even though the Sixers were to draft immediately after Miami, who could have just taken Cook? Need some explanation there.
Otherwise, I don't agree that Smith deserves better. The Sixers is the perfect scenario for him- he'll get solid minutes each night, will get touches and have no pressure to develop his game since Dalembert and Evans is around. Plus, one of Sam and Reggie will be moved eventually so his minutes will go up, maybe into starter minutes.

Presumably, another team was also going to trade up to get him, so we had to make a better offer (21st + 2nd was a better offer than a later 1st rounder + future 2nd.)
