With the reserves being announced last night and the bus to the Big Easy now at capacity, who do you feel was the most blaring snub from each conference?

Representing the West

Iverson
Bryant
Melo
Duncan
Yao
Nash
Paul
Dirk
Boozer
Amare
Roy
West

Representing the East

Kidd
Wade
Lebron
KG
Howard
Bosh
Butler
Pierce
Billups
Rip
Johnson
Jamison

I'm going with one of tonight's opponents in Turkoglu as the East's biggest snub w/ Ray Allen as a close 2nd. While I do think the Big 3 has performed at a high enough level to warrant all three to represent the East this year, the Magic's record wouldn't be where it is without Hedo's play. Not only has he been able to fill the stat sheet night in and night out, he's been their 4th quarter go-to guy and he's delivered. Howard receives the majority of the recognition for the Magic's surge this year (and deservingly so), but Hedo has possessed a savvy all season that has balanced Orlando's attack and his contributions have proven to be determinants in numerous Magic victories up to this point in the season.

In the West I'm going with Josh Howard. Its going to be interesting to see how the minutes are distributed with the plethora of big men on the roster (Duncan, Yao, West, Amare, Boozer, Dirk). The only real swing players representing the West this year are Roy, Bryant, and Melo. You could easily make arguments for Camby, B. Davis, and Deron, but theres already a surplus of bigs and point guards on the roster. Dallas currently owns the 3rd best record in the West (5th in the league). I personally believe Howard has been just as integral to his team's success as Dirk has and deserves to be recognized accordingly.

b.diddy deserves a spot on the team. you could make a case for stephen jackson. He is one of the reasons why that team is playing so well.

Camby should have been recognized for his contributions on a Denver team that doesn't know the meaning of defense.

I wouldn't argue with him being on the team as he's been a beast all year, but at the same time its difficult to have 7 big men on a 12 man roster, let alone 3 players from the Nuggets who are barely holding onto 7th place.

How can you all forget the MVP? Willie Green.

He's so good, he doesn't have to force a bunch of shots to get double digits. He just lets his teammates take on the scoring load. That's a real all star :D

IMO, biggest snub in the East is Calderon - Best Assist to Turnover rate in the NBA. Highest FG% AND FT% of any PG in the league. 5th overall in APG despite being a backup for half the season. His style is made for the all-start game too in that he plays up-tempo and loves to make flashy pass. Sure he's not an all-star od D, but who wants to see that in an all-star game?

I don't think anyone else can argue much that they were snubbed. There's not that many guys having great seasons in the East. Maybe make a case for Turkoglu, Josh Smith (style made for what fans want to see at all-star games), Richardson, Redd, R. Jefferson and Iguodala, but most of them are on bad teams so they won't get any votes. Did someone really say Ray Allen was a snub? Might be having the worst overall season of his career. Granted Boston is very good, but they have 2 guys who made the team and have a bigger impact on that teams win total.

The most undeserving guys on the East squad were Kidd and Joe Johnson. Maybe Rip too, but his shooting % and team success make him worthy.

In the West it's so hard to say who did and didn't deserve to be on the team. Roy and David West are the only two you can agrue who maybe didn't deserve it, but their teams success helped. I would say the biggest snub is Baron Davis (he makes that team go more than any other snub). You could strongly argue Deron Williams, Al Jefferson and Josh Howard too. You also have Manu and Kaman (a bigger snub than Camby imo - for the all-star game I take O over D). As for the idea of S. Jackson being a snub, I find that quite funny. He's not even close to being an all-star level player. You really think a SF who barely shoots 40% and turns it over more than 3 time/game is all-star worthy? That teams success has way more to do with Baron, Ellis and Biedrins than it does Jackson.

Because his name is Ray Allen? He's just not having a very good year this year. I guess you could make the case of him over Joe Johnson, but you could make a better case for 2 or 3 other guys over Joe Johnson.

I put Hedo ahead of Ray and Ray ahead of Joe Johnson. I expected his scoring to decline as he's deferring to KG and Pierce. His FG% could be better, but he's still stroking it from 3, still money at the line, and he's been pretty clutch down the stretch all season. I'm not saying its an outrage that he didn't make it, but one could certainly argue that he's worthy.
