Who is our best defender?

So i was wondering, who do you think is our best defender?

I voted for Reggie. Just because i have read quotes from players on other teams not liking the way he plays them. These quotes also put me over hump in voting for him.

"You have to hit people when they don't expect it," Evans said after helping hold the high-flying Mavericks to just 23 second-half points. "You don't want guys being comfortable. The coaches here let me do what I do on the defensive end. It's fun."

The other night, after beating Miami, Evans was asked how he managed to keep playing hard during a long, lost season like this. His answer showed remarkable candor and insight into the psyches of too many NBA players.

"This is how I always play," Evans said. "I'm not one of those guys who's going to get a big contract and then stop playing hard. And I'm not one of those guys who plays hard because he's in a contract year."

This guy is perfect for philadelphia and i hope we never trade him. when he was guarding Dirk the other night you could tell that Dirk said to himself "oh god, not this guy" and he was right in his face the whole time.

Last night, one of those weapons was not Nowitzki. He shot just 4 for 15 and scored 15 points, only six in the second half.

The Sixers kept sending different defenders on Nowitzki, especially Reggie Evans, who had eight rebounds off the bench.

"I know his comfort zone, and his discomfort zone is physical play, so I wanted to bump him at the three-point line, half-court line, just be aggressive with him at all times," Evans said.

I feel like he can shut anyone down thats not a point guard. They are alway going to wonder how their nuts are going to feel after matching up with him. Just ask Chris Kaman.

So i vote for Reggie. I have only added those who I think are good defenders so if i missed some one just let me know and i wil add them to the poll.

Before Philly, I've seen and heard conflicting accounts on Evans' defense, from several people and from various games, because of too much focus on the offensive rebound from him. But seeing the Sixers a bunch this season, he's been a consistently good defender. Been impressed for sure.

I also didn't see him as much with Seattle and Denver, and may of just refined his game. Or was told to do differently.

I would of loved to see this game because I love good defense, and is interesting to watch Dirk get defended. Then how that relates to his past containings and for the future. Dirk's failures haven't been nearly as much as choking (not too much) as it has been the defense played on him. Most people overlook that and just look at a few times from the Miami series and the Warrior series. And overblow Dirk not playing well as choking, but it's actually been the defense. Though with the Warriors series it was a good mix of both.

Sometimes defense doesn't get enough credit for how opposing players do.

But yeah, I definitely agree Evans is a Philadelphia-type player.

It's hard to compare big men and guards defensively. But in terms of impact on the team, it would be Sammy because we have no other big man that comes close, so when he goes out it effects us more. As for the best actual defender, imo Andre.

It was Thaddeus Young, NOT Reggie Evans who was having Dirk Nowitski going "OMFG, NO". Thaddeus Young has been a STUD of a forward and it's scary to think what will be: Iggy/Young in the near future.

As an overall defender i will take Thaddeus as well i remember him playing great defense on Lebron, Dirk, Jamison, Yi, and reshard lewis and after that Iguodala no doubt.

I am not sold on any guys at that list (they are good but not phenomenal) but if I have to decide I will go with Iggy. His man-to-man defense is not as good as it is supposed to be but overall, he has great hands (I would like to know how many passes he had alreay deflected this season) and he is a very good team defender.

Secondly I would go with Thad. He still struggles a bit against more athletic guys but his overall understanding of defense is astonishing. He does not get tricked by pump fakes and so forth. The other proposed guys are also solid. If Reggie Evans always faces Zach Randolph, he would be at the top of my list though. :D
