Millers Value

24 hours left, teams might start to get desperate. Do you think Miller has more value NOW or next year as an expiring contract?

Right now, there are probably only 2, maybe 3, teams interested in Andre Miller and none of those teams have anything to offer us.

This summer and up to the deadline, Miller will have more teams interested in him hence enabling the Sixers to get better return than what's available now.

This summer and next year he'll be like Artest- he'll be valuable as a player and as an expiring.

Otherwise Miller and Artest could not be more different...

I don't think his value changes at all, it's the number of teams that may be interested in him.

So if you use that as a barometer of value, then I think he's more valuable later. So basically what TGP said.

I didn't see option 3 in the poll:

Much Later - 2-3 year extension

Chalk me up for that option.

How does he have more value at 35 years old?

Sixers24:

My point is I don't want to move him - I would be open to seeing if he would sign a 2-3 year extention (two years guaranteed, with a 3rd year team option/buyout).

He's probably one of the 10 best PG's in the league right now...playing at a very high level...why can't he still be a productive, effective PG until at least the 2010-11 season?

+1

I couldn't agree more... I've said many times that PG is the one position where you want a veteran during rebuilding... Eventually, you groom a replacement for Miller and when he takes over the "rebuild" should be considered complete...

Also agree with the above.
