I'm having a really hard time understanding this. How is it that a 6'10 young PF like Justin Williams has not been picked up yet by us? Seriously. The guy would fit perfectly with our up-temp style of play coming off the bench. From everything I've read about this kid, his athleticism is close to that of Tyrus Thomas and Amir Johnson - two players who we'd actually have to pay out for - if we could get them at all. And yet this kid is sitting there for the taking and Stefanski hasn't made a move to acquire him. I could understand this if Amundson or Shav were contributing but considering that neither are, I don't see why we couldn't take the gamble. A bench lineup of LouWill, Carney, Thad, J. Williams, and Smith or Sam would be pretty explosive in the transition game. Justin Williams is said to be offensively raw so he's similar to Evans in that regard BUT with his length, shotblocking (5.6 bpg - 2nd best in the country) and rebounding 11 TOT, he would give us something that Evans cannot - a presence inside. And the kid is only 23 years old!

Strengths: Long, athletic post player with great leaping ability ... Tremendous shot blocker. Great timing and long arms make him a menace inside the paint for opposing players ... Alters a lot of shots ... Runs the floor well ... Has a huge wing span ... Quick feet and great reflexes ... Strong rebounder. Big hands. Good at attacking the glass and scoring on put backs ... Hard worker, his offensive game has shown solid improvement ... Does a good job of playing to his strengths ... Could fit a role on an NBA team due to his rebounding and shot blocking ability

He shoots about 30% from the line, so there are some drawbacks...I agree he's worth a look, but there are no guaruntees.

A lot of the articles about him said that he'd be better suited to play the 5 due to his length and thin frame. He could be a decent backup to Sam in the second lineup. Problem is, we can't have him in the game with Evans or we'd have ZERO offense from out frontcourt. That said, Williams would probably be better served if Thad was at the 4 when he was in.

Can be foul prone, since he is so aggressive on the defensive end, but has improved at cutting down on fouls ... Lacks great passing and ball handling skills ... Should develop a go to move, lacks the ability to create shots for himself ...

Why is there always some love fest for the latest cut. These guys will never become anything in the NBA. But people want them all on the 76ers.

Would you give him some of Thad's minutes at the 4, or Smith's or Evans?

Its hard to find more mintes for young players on this team without taking away from other young guys, unless the guy you are broinging in is a widebody that can back up Sam.

Actually his height is 6' 7.5" bare foot and 6' 8.75" in shoes and his wing span is shorter than two other Williams' at similar heights.

I have a feeling that he isn't that much better than Amundson for them to layout the cash however minimal. Maybe they sign him in the summer after the dust settles. He'd be an unrestricted FA at the end of this season anyway.

Two reasons:

1. He's probably just not that good.
2. He's the suspect in a sexual assault case, and the legal issues were one of the main reasons I believe the Kings were willing to release him.

This guy sounds like poor mans Steven Hunter... A Healthy Steven Hunter would average 5+ blocks 11+ rebounds and 25+ points in the D-League...
