Amen. The greatest thing about watching a Dr. J breakaway was how bad his handle was in the open court. He always looked like he was on the verge of dribbling the ball off of his foot, then when he got within twenty feet of the basket he would pick the ball up in those ginormous hands and a thing of beauty would ensue.
Loved some of the vicious, one-hand dunks off rebounds Sir Charles threw down in his younger days.

Good ones as well...remember the AI dunk against the Raptors...was just sitting there watching the game, when I saw AI go OVER Camby to throw it down...one of those "did I just see what I though I saw?" moments. And, Skates, the young Barkley was truly amazing...rip a rebound, go the length of the floor and then completely THROW DOWN...in the 35 years that I have watched NBA basketball, few men combined the strength on the glass and the ability to finish like Charles.

Since the break-away rims were introduced after Chocolate Thunder destroyed two backboards, and DD had some great dunks too, Barkley and Shaq are the only players I have seen cause the entire basket support to be moved off of its moorings, so to speak, and have to be repositioned. What power the young Charles had.
The coast to coast drives and dunks of J, Charles and AI were a treat to watch, all different, but still amazing.
Aside from his rock the cradle dunk, my favorite Erving dunks were the huge wind-mill variety. He did better dunks in games than most guys can do in dunk contests, and from what I hear Erving's knees were already worn down even in his earlier Sixers career.
I would love to see more of Dr J's game and dunks from when he was in the ABA. People forget he was a dominant rebounder back then.

Yes...Doc's ABA years were pretty amazing. His Cooper dunk still gives me goosebumps.
Iguodala's dunk above may have been the best slam dunk contest dunk until this year. I love the foul line dunks, but to dunk from behind the backboard on the other side of the rim is pretty amazing.

Also... I love Mo Cheeks dunk at the end of the game against the Lakers when we won the title. Not a great dunk... but a great moment.

Didn't Doc have some huge slam against Portland in the finals? (that we lost) I can't remember who it was on, but his head was at the rim and he dunked through the guy.
