We have 2 more winnable games and after that we have 6games that will be impossible so the hawks will catch us

Wait... did I miss something? Did the Bulls suddenly become at least a mediocre team?? How is that an "impossible" game? I'm also not sold on us losing to Denver either but for the sake of conversation, I'll say we lose that one.

Vs. SEA
@ MIL
Vs. BOS
@ DET
@ CHI
Vs. SAS
Vs. DEN
@ ORL

Even if we went 2-6 during this stretch, the Hawks would have to go 6-5 over their next 11 games in order to pull into a tie with us. Considering the way the Hawks are playing and the way the Sixers have been playing, I'm saying that we come through this tough stretch still in the playoffs.

if we play the way we played in the last month we can win any of these games.

I agree... I think we'll come through this next stretch of games at 4-4 (wins against Sea, Mil, Chi, & Den) which means that the Hawks would have to go 8-3 over their next 11 to tie us.

I will say this... the Hawks do have a fairly easy schedule from here till the end of the season. If for some reason we are battling them for 8th instead of the Wizards for 6th in April, then I think that seed will all come down to the "home and home" series we have against the Hawks on April 4th and 5th.

I don't see the Hawks catching up. They've been losing a lot of games lately and I'm not sure Bibby is working out for them. Also, Chicago is not a good team.

I have to agree that the way this team ("we") is playing, they can beat anybody.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... LieCheatSteal, are you on board with the Sixers??? have you seen the light and left the Raptors in the rear-view mirror?? :-)

I just looked at the remaining schedule for Atlanta, NJ, and Philly and counted possible wins, knowingly there will be some unexpectants but I thought it would be interesting.

Atlanta has 24 games remaining. I predicted they would go 11-13 to finish with a 35-47 record.

New Jersey has 22 games remaining. I think they will be lucky to go 10-12 over that stretch to end up at 36-46.

Philly has 21 games remaining and I was very conservative(who would of predicted a win in Phoenix?) in saying that they would go 9-12 to finish 37-45, but if they can keep playing at their current level they will definitely steal some games.

So in general no we are not screwed, in the fact of making the playoffs, but when they get there is another issue.

Who didn't pass this man a cup of that Kool-Aid?? We're going to be fine as long as we keep playing defense and hustling. We're getting the best of both worlds. Thad is starting and being productive, while also making a serious playoff push. You can't beat that.

i think with the way we are playing right now a lot of teams are going to think to hard about how to beat us....that gives us an advantage...i say 40 wins..yeah said it...by the way..i just funneled two gallons of kool aid...speaking of that TGP what was the kool aid guy's name..or was it just that, "the kool aid guy"

If anything of value can be taken out of this thread's dubious beginnings, it is that the Sixers need to win the next two games. We are at the time of the year when a playoff hopeful team like Philly must win the games that are there to be taken. Beat Seattle and Milwaukee, then if you win 2 of the next 6 games, which is very achievable for this team. you have a 4-4 record which is better than our current season long winning perecentage.

The boys have to guard against a let down game in the next two like they has against Minnesota coming off the all-star break.

Well, they do not have to think very hard to figure it out ... get back on defense and cut down on turnovers. The problem is the Sixers play such scrappy defense and get out and run so hard that it is hard to do. That is why I think the Sixers will be just fine. They do not depend on shooting jumpshots to win ... they just work hard and run, run, run ....

I've always been on board with the Sixers. I like this team. They play hard every game and show a lot of effort. However....

The Raps will always be my first love

And yes, I did type that ;)

Hollinger currently projects us to go 40-42 using his playoff prediction program, for whatever that's worth.
