Lou & Andre

Post#1 » by MicrOLak3R » Thu Mar 6, 2008 5:36 am

I'm looking at their stats and I'm thinking it's feasible Lou ( 21y/o )can get the same numbers as Andre ( 24 y/o ) if he got the extra burn. AI is averaging 39 minutes and Lou 23 minutes. So what does AI do that much better than Lou? I know It's a comparison but more Sixer related.

Andre is bigger and more length and his defense is WAY better. Lou has good defense for his size but Andre's Basketball IQ on the defensive side is way better.

Huh?

These are completely different players.... With completely different skill sets. What's the purpose of this arbitrary comparison?

If you're trying to say Lou should get more PT, that's valid. But comparing him to Iggy is useless. They do completely different things on the floor.

Personally, I'd like to see Lou get some more of WG's minutes, but certainly not Iggy's. Lou's a combo guard... wth limited defensive ability. IMO, he's best-suited as a microwave guy with some scoring pop off the bench. A lesser version of Barbosa. Ideally, he's coming off your bench. Undersized as a 2, and you don't want him playing starting minutes as a point. Perfect bench guy.

That being said, I've been curious to see Mo start Lou over WG in some matchups this year. At least until Eddie gets a real starting SG. WG is playing well, but Lou is a better weapon IMO. If you think Lou's too small to start at SG, look at what Monta Ellis is doing as Golden State's starting 2.

STOP! STOP! STOP! Willie Green is the better player at this moment. Everything is working right now, you don't need to change anything. People get all upitidy up over Williams because of one good game. He needs to do it on a consistant basis first.

I think Lou actually can get the line better than Iguodala...he has to get better there. Otherwise, I'm not sure what Lou does better? He's having a nice stretch of games, but he needs to put it together more consisently if this topic has any merit.

This can't honestly be a comparison. Iggy is longer, stronger, better defensively, passes better, scores better, rebounds better, and everything else.

Lou is a nice player, and he's even younger than Iggy, but come on. He can't compare to Iggy.

At 21 Dala was a good all around player with an underdeveloped offensive game- that he has improved.

At 21, Lou is a good offensive (scoring) player, who is still trying to develop the rest of his all around game. I still hold out hope that in three years Lou will be an impact player on this team alongside Dala and Thad.

In three years would be a reasonable combined output for Lou, Thad and Dala?

I hope for 54pts, 13asts, 15 reb, 5st, 2blk, 47%

I strongly encourage the new posters here to put a little more thought into their threads and topics for that matter. Not that I don't enjoy discussing Sixer basketball..... I probably enjoy it a little too much.... but nonetheless a good portion of the plethora of threads that have been created as of late haven't exactly been the most insightful contributions this board has seen.

Lou won't match Iggy's numbers even if he plays Iggy's minutes. As pointed out above, his game is different from Iggy's.

I don't mind ballboys posting perceived to be poor topics. Just ignore them. It's good that people care about the Sixers. If you don't like one, don't contribute and ignore. What I don't like is personally attacks. Seen enough of that on the Raptor board.

I know they play different positions and bring different things to the table. But just stat-wise do you guys think Lou can put up the same numbers?

Is AI a better rebounder because he averages 3.7 more rebounds/ 1.3 assists/ Little over 2 FT more in about 16 more minutes of PT? I think he's a better defender but Lou is improving.

I don't mean to say he's better or at the level of AI's play. It was just more of a thought that Lou could produce similar numbers given the burn. Seeing what everyone else thought of it.
