I was watching the highlights of his performance last night. I already felt that him and Kobe are neck and neck the best players in the league. But in 5 years this man is going to be absolutely ridiculous. There is a thread in the NYK forum where the author states that 'Bron is not that nice.

I'm had to argue that in fact this man is. Unlike other frauds we have seen and overrated in the past, he ain't one of them. How would guys rate Lebron? I actually think when it's all said and done he could end up being better than Jordan. Also, when is he a free agent? We'll have some assets to use in a trade potentially.

A) LeBron is awesome! I love his game but the I think it'll take a championship in order for him to convert the naysayers.

He has 10,124 points, 2449 assists and 2546 rebounds. And he just turned 22 literally 2 months ago.

To make matters worse, he plays on a slow team (cleveland's in the bottom third in pace), in a slow league (we average around 10 possessions less per game than in the mid 80's. His stats translated to the 80's would be approximiately 34/9/8.5.

BTW...loved Lebron's quote, when they asked him about the fan that walked on court to congratulate him...

"It was a great feeling. You get a fan to come down there to express the way he feels about you ... told me I was his favorite player, that never happens," James said. Has LeBron grown??? He's listed at 6-8...and 240...

Also, about people saying he's not a nice guy, that quote, pretty much tells me, he would be an awesome person to hang out with. He seems incredibly friendly...And if hes a lil cocky who cares...least hes not Kobe...

I've never read anything about him not being a nice guy. I think somebody just got their favorite team beaten by him one too many times.

I think hes a good player but I'm sick of people comparing him to Jordan. Hes so overrated. He led a **** team to the finals and got swept. I mean come on. People are just impatient and miss Jordan so much that they say any player who scores like him will be better than him. They said Kobe was Jordan, now Lebron...Give it a rest guys. I'm not saying he's Michael Jordan, because there's only ever been one of him. But this "he lead a **** team to the finals and got swept" is BS. When Michael was LeBron's age, he never led a team to a .500 record (team's winning percentage was .439, 108-138).

^^ Agreed. Not to mention, one could argue that he single-handedly defeated the Detroit Pistons to get the opportunity to get swept. Not many 22 year olds have had such legendary post season performances. I'm not going to compare him to MJ just yet, but I certainly don't think Lebron is overrated. I think he's been backing up his hype and then some since his first game in the league.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Also, you have to think of the era. MJ played during a time where the Western Conference was not as nearly devasting as it is now. The fact that this young man led his team from a poor team to a NBA Finals team in a four year span is remarkable.

Lebron is not over rated. Not sure if it was Mike/Mike or Boomer Esiason this morning that called him Magic Jordan, referencing a cross between Magic and Michael. Which is a nice comparison, but all the comparisons are unfair. Oscar Robertson averaged a triple double at the age of 23 I believe, so there have been other great performances at this young an age. LeBron is going to write his own Bio, and it's looking pretty good so far...when is he a FA??

LBJ would average a Quadruple Double back in Oscars' days.

I'll just go ahead and assume that you're kidding, but still.. No, he most definately would not average a quadruple double. Assists were much harder to get, because the pass had to lead to an imediate basket. It's much easier to get an assist in the current NBA. Besides, blocks and steals were not counted when The Big O played.

It might be easier to get an assist but it is undeniable that today's NBA is tougher than 30 or 40 years or so ago. There is no Wilt Chamberlain type of player who crushes the other players day in and day out. The NBA expanded globally and competition became much stronger. Those days are now over when the NBA was pretty much isolated.

LeBron James is a heck of a player. At his age, he has surpassed ANY player so far and if he is continuing so he might become the best player who has ever played the game of basketball. He just has to find a better-suited franchise that surrounds him with better players.

The average team in 61/62 had 1915 assists
The average team in 06/07 had 1746 assists

Any possible change in what people counted as assists was more than balanced out by the fact that there were like 25 more shots per game taken back then. LeBron if he kept his assist and rebounding rates constant would have put up silly numbers.
