It's not like he's some uncoordinated, stiff big man.
Imo Sammy is pretty uncoordinated. Not as bad as earlier in his career thought.

Wonderful...Just when it seems like this team is jelling, and everyone is playing unselfishly, Dalembert has to start acting like a moron again. I thought we were past this stage...
I completely agree Jasner. How the hell can getting 22 points on 10-11 shooting along with 13 rebounds not be fun? How can the majority of the last sixers wins turning into blowouts not be fun?
Posted: Sat Mar 8, 2008 11:45 amGet that clown out of town. He is whining the whole time. He gets already a big share of minutes. He has done ANYTHING which would warrant more playing time.
I always somehow doubted whether Malone is a good big man coach or consultant. I haven't seen play Moses Malone but as far as I know his inside game was never really polished or sophisticated but rather more physical. Since he had not had those skills, he might not be the best suited big man coach. Kareem might have been better.

Sam will not be the first to complain about minutes, coaching or whatever as we start to build toward being a contender.
Not every good team has those kind of fragile ego problems, but most do. Aside from contract issues with Dala, We have seen little of this since CWebb and AI left town, but it is a matter of time.

Or we could just not cave in to the whiney player who blames everyone but himself.
At what point does potential stop? Sam will turn 27 later this year. Has his lack of development in the fundamentals always been because of a lack of coach? Has it always been because of inconsistent minutes?
Seriously, it's ALWAYS someone elses fault but sam. This, IMO, is more of what's holding sam back than any coaching, or starting basketball late. Tim Duncan and Kareem picked up basketball at a similar age as sam did, I don't see their lack of fundamentals at 27 years old.
Posted: Sat Mar 8, 2008 2:09 pmSam does a lot of good charity work/trips in the off season...maybe he should plant his but in Philly and shoot about 1000 jump hooks with each hand every day. He has a nice touch, but no 'go to' move. I think based on his body build, the jump hook would be his best option.
The other aspects of the game scare me more with Sam...somebody attacked me about the basketball IQ of Reggie and Sam the other week, but he scares me with his half hook shot/pass to start the break on a made basket. He and Reggie both make really silly mistakes, which can be attributed to low BB IQ. Sam can spend half the day in a big man camp, and half the day in a PG camp to get his comprehension of the game to another level.

Maybe he can give him a kick in the a$$ to cut out the whining and toughen him up a bit. If your angry do what you did last night and take it out on the oponent.

we hear about funny, joking sam but deep down hes got the maturity level of a 16 year old who thinks he is better than what he is...i dont think this will become big and im sure it probably came off a little emotional but if this gets anywhere near the jim o'brien level again (where he complained about being benched for marc jackson) ill be disgusted
that said, im still firmly on the trade sam bandwagon nd would look to move him for anything that could help this team in the long run including picks and expirings and youth

Sam and Bosh have similar builds and levels of athletasism, but Bosh is quite a bit more than an athlete and a big man coach, but if Sam wants to put in the work all power to him.
