Well, we're a good, young team but we're not title contenders and we're going to take our lumps against the top teams in the league. Even though Sheed will probably miss this game, I fear this will be another lump hence...

they are going to hand us our heads. They are better than us at every position except C (usually every position). There is an argument that iguodala is better than prince but if he is it's not by much...
Detroit +10

I look at the two previous games and see that the Pistons beat us by 5 points and 10 points when they had Sheed and we weren't playing basketball like we have been. It's possible we get blown out but if we didn't get blown out then... why would it happen now when there are more things in our favor??

the same reason boston erradicated us. we might play them in the 1st round it's time to send a message. I'm not saying that we have no shot what so ever, just a razor thin one.

So you don't have any faith in this team (the Sixers) bouncing back from the loss to Boston and playing a strong game against a weakened Detroit team??
Even though I believe the Sixers will lose... I do believe it'll be a close game.

no it's possible, believe you me i'll be downing kool aid tomorrow, its just not likely though. I think we bounce back at chicago and then steal one vs denver (2nd sellout?). this game is just a tough one..

The first question is is Willie playing ? Also if not then who will be starting...I would like to see Iggy guard Rip and let Thad guard Prince abd let Reggie start...This would give us great rebounding and let Iggy and Thad run the break..Plus Iggy always has trouble with Prince's length..

Willie's out at least two games... ^^^ Couldn't agree more. ^^^ IMO the Sixers give themselves a
major defensive advantage with Iggy and Thad out on the wings. They cover so much floor with their length...
Also, while I'm having a blast with this season and all, I'm still very curious to see what our future holds. Iggy's been developing his outside shot, and I'm increasingly in favor of running that 2/3 combo together for the next 10 years... But we need to
see if it can work. Can't just make summer moves on paper. Need to test-run that combo as the starting wing players.
If it doesn't work, ie. Iggy doesn't continue improving his shot, then our best two players simply play the same position. That's a problem. We've talked about S&T with Iggy, but I'm really leaning towards sliding Iggy to the 2 and using the draft picks + J. Smith + Carney to get our big man. But everything will just continue to be speculation until we see Iggy/Thad start at 2-3.... Hopefully Mo (easy, dond) will do the sensible thing and start:
Miller/Iggy/Thad/Evans/Sam

Hmmm... with Willie being out, it's either going to be Evans or Carney in the lineup so I'll change the lineup to show Evans in the lineup.

I didn't like our chances against the Celtics at home, but for some reason I'm hitting the bottle and calling for th e Sixers to shock the world... or at least the Detroit metro area.
Our main issue with Detroit has been their length on defense keeps us fro scoring in the paint, causing us to settle for low percentage jumpers like we did last night.
A game against Detroit with no Wallace's is a game we can get to the hole and steal a win...

Just like Mo was afraid to start Thad against Garnet, I think he'll be afraid to start him at SF.
I think Mo is concerned that Miller/Dala/Young is not enough ballhandling to handle the defensive pressure Detroit applies. I think we might see Lou starting, just like he started the second half.
I guess Mo will consider Thad since the Detroit is so tall across the backcourt.
I hope to see 30minutes and 20+ pts/5 assts from Lou if he starts. He should be able to get to the rim against Detroit's good but depleted frontcourt.

I like our chances in this game. They don't have Sheed, arguably their best player.

I wonder if there will be any hangover from the Boston game. Either way we are way outclassed in this game and I think we will be lucky to be in the game come the 4th quarter. Would like to see strong games from Iggy and Thad though.

I love our team and we are only going to get better. I love how we hung tough with the C's after seemingly being blown the hell out in the first Q. Lets prove we are a playoff team and hang with the pistons. Besides we need this one. We aren't official just yet and the Bulls could still catch us.
I would go with the afore mentioned lineup of Miller,Iggy,Young,Evans,Daly with Lou Will getting a ton of burn.

I fully expect this game to be similar to the Boston game. The Sixers will not be able to score on the break and will get very few dunks. So, that leaves outside shooting and half-court sets to score from. That is where the Sixers are weakest. And ... without Willie in the lineup they have no shooters at all. Of course, Detroit does not blow out anybody so it will be fairly close ... but no chance to win.

Prince is better then Iggy. No question there but back to the game. I think well lose this one but i hope we pull it out and win the next 3. Beat Detroit, Bulls and Nuggets but well probally go 2-1 over the next 3 games.

Say What?!?!?!?!
Prince isn't even close to being better than Iggy. Iggy has averages of 20 6 and 5 while Prince has 14 5 and 3. We all agree that Iggy can bring his game to another level while well Prince is what he is.

Detroit by 10+.
The matchup I want to see is Thad versus Prince. Mo should also put Iguodala on Billups to slow him down and let Miller chase Hamilton through screens. We could potentially matchup very well against them.
