Playoffs!

Post#1 » by sixersfan7676 » Sat Mar 15, 2008 3:14 pm

It looks as if we are becoming a lock to make the playoffs, so who does everyone here want us to play in the first round? If...

We are the 7th seed, we will most likely go up against:

DETROIT PISTONS
47-18
Our record against Detroit: 1-2

If we are the 6th seed, we will most likely go up against:

ORLANDO MAGIC
43-24
Our record against Orlando: 1-2

If we are the 5th seed, (which we are actually only 2.5 games out of), we will most likely go up against:

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS
37-29
Our record against Cleveland: 1-0

I would definitely prefer to play the Orlando Magic, because Lebron is just too scary, and Detroit always plays better in the playoffs.

i'd like to play cleveland or orlando. i think orlando is way better than anyone gives them credit for and i think lebron james is overrated, as are the cavaliers. i'd probably rather play cleveland, though. that way when the sixers beat them, the entire NBA will implode and david stern will be left with no choice but to give the sixers the championship.

i mean it would be a story if the sixers beat anyone in the playoffs, especially orland or detroit, but if they beat lebron james and the cavaliers? that would be huge.

orlando

I want no part of the pistons in 7
and DAMN SURE dont want to play lebron and the refs, even though i agree w/ nofx, we would have a huge buzz if we took out the king.

If not Boston, Detroit may just be the team to come out the East this year.

I'd hate to play Lebron and all the travels he gets away with.

Orlando is underrated, but we may stand the best chance against them. Howard is good, but he doesn't scare me as much as LBJ or Detroit's playoff experience.

However, there is a part of me that wants revenge against the Pistons from the last playoff series we played.

Are chances would be slim, but I agree- it would be a lot sweeter to take out the Sheeds'

I'd rather take on Orlando than Detroit or Boston. Also, what's the deal with this username? Tricky, tricky!

I would guess "sixersfan" is probably not an uncommon handle for a poster to think up. the numbers "76" aren't exactly random, either. i doubt it was meant to be tricky. Let's face it, sf1976's username isn't exactly original or unique.

Orlando, only because they are young and I really could see us beating them.

Cleveland isn't that great, however, like others said, the NBA wants Lebron deep in the playoffs.

Detroit is scary.

I see what you're saying but the fact of the matter is that "sixersfan1976" is by far the most popular poster on this board and a lot of people care what/when he posts. The lack of caps and the usage of 4 numbers seems tricky... not that there's anything wrong with that.

Are the following usernames taken??
sixersfan76?
SixersFan76?
Sixersfan7676?

*** in no way should this issue be taken seriously.

Anybody but Detroit. They knocked us out of our last 2 trips to the post season. Also their public address announcer is annoying as hell.

Deeeeetroit basketball. :banghead:

I would prefer to play the Cavs because I would like to see the Sixers vs one of my other fav players LeBron James. We have no chance vs Detroit in a playoff series. I don't like our chances vs Orlando either.

I don't think we need to worry about playing Boston.

Detroit was scary a couple days ago, but since we beat them (however small the margin may be), I could see us giving them a run for their money.

Orlando would be our best chance to get to the 2nd round. They have virtually no playoff experience (not saying we do, but they don't have the advantage in that department like everyone else), and they are definitly the most flawed of the top 4.

Cleveland's team is very human, and capable of being beaten. The only problem is, LeBron isn't.

Here's a link to a thread in the general nba forum. Its a pretty well rounded contribution from fans of opposing teams. The general consensus seems to be that we could turn a few heads in the post season. Some breakdown possible playoff scenarios for us and our odds for an upset. Good read.
