I like the comparison he reminds me of KG certain times.

He's either going to be a Cedrick Ceballos or a Darius Miles...KG is 7'00 tall Thad is 6'8" I don't see how a comparison on skills could ever be drawn...

oh I see more clearly what he was getting at after clicking the link. It would have been a better article if the "veterans" could have also included retired players,...Thad would be better suited to study Adrian Dantley and Mark Aguire.

The KG comparison works. Young is efficient, plays hard, and has a good skill set.

It'll be interesting to see how far Young's game comes along in the next few seasons. It'll be even better to see how he adapts if he grows.

Thad is Thad...don't really see any of the comparisons. It should be fun to watch him develop skill wise over the next few seasons.

The Adrian Dantley comparison isn't half bad- except that AD was 6'5 and 210lbs. I do see the good comparison in their games. AD was the classic smooth, highly efficient scorer. He wasn't explosive, but a great athlete in terms of quickness, fluidity and body control.

If Thad turns out to be a HOF scorer like AD we will be very lucky to get to watch him over the next 15 years.

It's not really a comparison to KG. He puts Noah next to Dirk.

If I'm comparing Thad to current players, I'd put him - well, his ceiling - as some sort of hybrid between Marion and Odom.

Odom is a decent comparison.... I also see some Jamison in him. Either way, we're sooooo early in his career that I believe his game in 7 years when he's just entering his prime at 26 will be significantly different than what is it today.

Which is kind of why this article by Thorpe is a fresh take. He's not trying to compare any of the rookies to anyone, he's simply highlighting areas where these guys should focus their improvements on to become better players. Everyone is so quick to try and pigeon-hole a guy into another player - we have a whole forum on it here - instead of analyzing it this way.

He mentions Durant should try to incorporate elements of Iversons game. He clearly is talking about style of play and skill sets more than body type or direct comparisons.

Young is much smaller than KG- but both have a nose for the ball and seem to bring a lot of intangibles. He wants Young to show some of KG's passion and bring it every night like KG does.

I doubt we will ever see Young screaming out curses around small children like KG, but I do hope he continues to bring it on a consistant level. He already seems mature beyond his years.

As someone on the board has posted body comparisons of Thad (HS, college & now), it'd be interesting to see how more strength will contribute to his rapidly growing game.

People have laughed about Thad saying how family members have grown in their early 20's and he expects he might grow 2 inches taller. At very least he will continue to add bulk to his frame. don't forget he was in HS 2 years ago...

His ability to defend multiple positions, and his wingspan that allows him to be so disruptive.

people say i remind them of Lamar Odom but im 5'10'' if that brings anything to the conversation...

I think the article wants Thad to pick up KG's intensity more than anything else.
