The season is coming to a close and the 76ers have been awsome in the 2nd half of the season. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the season has been the development of our bench. We know know that Thaddeus and Lou Williams have talent, but before it's all said and done, I think most of us will find out that Jason Smith and Carney also have talent. We will find out more about these 2 players next season. Many will disagree with my last comment, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
When the season is over the 76ers must decide which players they want to bring to summercamp. This past summer the 76ers drafted Herbert Hill from Providence, who was one of those players, who played very little in his junior season. However, he used the knowledge he learned by riding the bench to become one of the best players in the Big East as a starter in his senior year. His coach called him one of the best players he ever coached.
Now, I what I am about to tell you has nothing to do with what we should draft , or what free agents the 76ers will pick up, or what players we will trade for. I was very happy to see the 76ers draft Herbert Hill. He suffered a setback in training camp, by getting injured, then had a second surgery. Many people on another website are hitting Hill with lefts and rights. They are beating this guy to death, before he even gets a chance.
I say give this man another chance and let him come to summercamp. We bring in a point guard for summercamp who can play an open court game, so we can see Herbert play open court basketball. You never let a guy go just because of an injury. It's not as if , Hill was hurt 3 years in a row.
I saw Herbert Hill play 6 times last year in Big East competition. He scored and rebounded at will and could block a shot. I also liked his jump hook which stopped bigger players from blocking his shot. Obviously I like Herbert enough to give him another chance. I still want to draft Jason Thompson, if Love is gone and pick up Nathan Jawai and Shan Foster. However, there is no risk in bringing Hill to summercamp. You now know, I am a fan of Herbert Hill. If Hill excels on another team, it probably will break my heart. Ed, if your out there, give him another chance. You will not be disappointed. Here is what Iggy said about Herbert Hill in training camp. " I did not realize he was this good". I believe in my Hill
Don't give up on Herbert Hill.

I see no reason why the Sixers won't at least bring him back to summer camp. If he's injured next season, there's a chance they won't sign him though.
Sounds fair to me. Just a summercamp chance. If he lands in NY or Chicago and plays well, I willl be pissed off. Herbert, I know you can do it, just get yourself 100% healthy.

is1531: Well, the good news is that you don't have to convince anyone here to keep Herbert Hill .... no-one here has any influence on what happens with Herbert Hill. And I believe the ones making that decision will make the right one ... without your/our/my help.
If you cannot convince others that you are right, you probably aren't.

I loved what I saw from Herbie in the summer league/preseason. I honestly thought he had higher upside in this league than Jason Smith. I hope he's back to 100% by next camp.

I absolutely agree. I thought he was going to be a big part of things and a regular part of the rotation. I still think that.
