So... What do you guys think?
Donnie Walsh.... I like the move.
And then he'll hire BK...... Book it here.
3-yr minimum repair job ?
Or strike gold w/ Beasely in June?
Hey. At least the Atlantic is rising again ~~

I hope Walsh works out in NY.
Isaiah needs to go. The Atlantic division has gotten better with the emergence of the Celtics, Sixers, and Raptors. The Nets may become a good young team in a few years.
The Knicks are the only question mark.
They're in contract hell, with some scrubs, and cancerous players. Walsh may be the man to clean things up.

As a Sixer fan.... I love it. Walsh is 67 years old so is he really in for the long haul with this franchise or will he sacrifice a solid rebuild in order to try to win a little faster just like Isiah and Scott Layden did??
Also, am I wrong for thinking that Walsh hasn't exactly been the cream of the crop lately?? I know he's shared the GM duties with Larry Bird recently but I look at the Pacers and I see another franchise that is neither good now or figures to be all that good in the future.

Isiah needs to stay. It's pure entertainment that the NBA would sorely miss.

Lol. The Knicks could have hired Chris Tucker as their GM and it would be an improvement. Walsh is washed up, what could any GM really do with that team?

Chad Ford also threw out the idea of Billy King being hired as GM. Seriously, given King's ability to hand out bad contracts and Dolan's willingness to spend money, this could be a match made in heaven.... for Sixers', Raptors', Nets', and Celtics' fans.

Agree.
Also nice to see how inspired the NYK were after the hiring of Walsh.
They give up 74 points in the 1st half.
To Memphis.

Let's trade Willie to NY.

noone ever suggests that maybe billy learned from his long contracts. if he has, i wouldnt want him to run the knicks. he has a talent for making large trades to move multiple players and manipulate convoluted salary caps... something the knicks sorely need

Something like, say...Randolph for Green, Evans and Booth?

A person familiar with Walsh's thinking said he is open to hiring two subordinates in the front office. One would be experienced with scouting and personnel; the other would be savvy about negotiating contracts and making trades. Among the people Walsh is believed to be considering are former 76ers general manager Billy King, Nuggets GM Mark Warkentien, YES and ABC/ESPN announcer Mark Jackson, who played for the Knicks and Pacers, and former Bobcats president Bernie Bickerstaff.

all these candidates are not good.
