If Ed said that we were gonna deal him what do you think we could get from other teams? If anything at all?

I can only imagine that Green's value is low around the league.

We could get the #5 pick in the 2009/10 draft if we give him more minutes.

I think the better question is: Would other teams take him off our hands for just an expiring? Or would a draft pick or two have to be thrown in?

He has little value. He also doesn't make much money. I wouldn't give up any assets for him to be traded. Rather just let him come off the bench for the next 2/3 years in Kevin Ollie's role. He can play decent defense & when he's on he can provide offense.

bingo. Anyone who wants to trade a pick just to get rid of a manageable contract is insane.

Willie hurts the 76ers as a starter, but as a backup could help this team. You only let him enter the game when the other team puts in their backup 2 guard. That is a war Willie can win. We do not have to get rid of Willie, only diminish his role and he will become an asset to this team. Right now he is hurting the team. We need a big slashing off guard that plays big like ( 6ft 6") Douglas Roberts.
This team has clearly overachieved with 2 weak starting players. It's incredible that we won so many games with only 3 good starting players. I do not care if the 76ers win 1 playoff game. The 76ers had a great season. It's almost time for Ed Stanfanski to go to work and build some roads for us. If Willie is the starting 2 guard next year, then Ed will be eating a lot of crow.
I would love to get some extra picks in this draft, so you might see the 76ers deal the Utah pick at the end of the year to get an extra pick. This draft is loaded with talent. I think I will stick with Jason Thompson, but we have to come up with a 2 guard with the next pick.

WG is more effective when he takes it to the basket. He should have a better chance getting to the lane and finishing against other bench players.
WG would be fine out there if he was told in no uncertain terms that a missed 3pt shot puts him on the bench. That would clean up his shot selection real quick.

I think that depends on whether that extra $3m or so is what's needed for the Sixers to bring a star PF on board. If that's the case, then Green and a #1 is a price worth paying.
