Unacceptable is, the 76ers only coming up with 1 good player added to the roster of the 2008-2009 season. I am not going to accept just adding Kevin Love or Jason Thompson. Their has to be more. I would love to make a deal to draft both of these players. We are last in 3 point shooting and foul shooting, so that part must be addressed in th off season.
Next season the 76ers have to find a way to get a home court advantage. It's difficult right now with the absence of a go to guy.
What is unacceptable?

the lack of killer options is what will hinder the sixers progress. id rather see them bite their lip and sit tight if nothing great presents itself. if we're not careful we'll end up trading for a jermaine oneal, or signing okeafor to a max deal just because we wanted to make a move. that can ruin the franchise for 5 more years.
timing is everything.

I agree with you. I do not want the players that you have mentioned. I am looking for some creativity in the draft. It would be something like, trading the Utah pick for an extra ist round pick in this draft or perhaps even buying a late ist round pick from a team that does not want their pick.
If we do not fill the PF and SG positions this year, then it will be another season where we do not put 5 good starters on the court. We can not go into next season with Green or Evans starting.
I fully expect Stefanski to do something with the 10 million this year. I bet he makes a trade over the summer or even on draft night.
I also find it interesting that when the 76ers are on the road, Herbert Hill is there with Iggy. Iggy is the man that looks out for Herbert. I hope Hill can play in the summer League this summer.

The answer to the sixers draft is we need to get a PF and a SG. If the sixers come away from the draft with Jason Thompson with their first pick that would be great. With their second pick, select Shan Foster would be a great draft for the sixers IMO. Find a way to trade Willie. Have Iggy and Thad work on their outside shooting and we would have a much improved team going into the 09 season. Our starting lineup
Miller(PG), Iggy(SG),Thad(SF), Thompson(PF),Sam(C)
With shooters off the bench such as lou, Carney, and Foster.
This way the sixers are only paying their draft picks and still improve; while keeping our cap space.

I have seen Shan Foster play 10 times this year.He has an excellent 3 point shooter. he has great size at 6ft6". He can perk up a crowd. If he can do what Ron Anderson did for the 76ers back in 1989 and 1990, then that would be a big lift.
Foster is just a solid flat out shooter. Thompson is one tough hombre. I just thought some of his teamates at Rider were inferior basketball players. Thompson should have a very productive career in the NBA. I want that career to be with the 76ers. He reminds me of former solid PF Hot Rod Williams.

* I'd be disappointed if Ed can't add a quality starting PF. Even if nobody is available in free agency, trades are possible so he should have no excuses for not adding a quality player.
* Counting on more rookies to be major contributors to an already too-young team doesn't really do a whole lot for me. If the Sixers were drafting in the top 5 and there was a chance to draft a beast, that would be one thing. But at ~17, odds are very much against drafting immediate impact players.
* As far as drafting a PF, is anybody available at ~17 likely going to be better than either Evans or Smith?
