Did the Cleveland Lebrons deserve that win last night?

I'm just curious. Do you think that the refs made the right call? Would that call have been made had the Sixers bee in the Cavs shoes? Did Z push Daly? Idk...notice that whenever we get into really close games with the Cavs we end up losing. W lost last time in Cleveland cuz Iggy got hacked en route to the basked and it wanst called. Davi Sern is all up on Lebron

Yes, Sam was clearly pushed into Devon Brown. That is the foul that should have been reviewed. Overall, the officiating was a joke and that call is never made. First time I've ever seen a foul called with 0.2 seconds left on the clock - especially considering we were playing at home. I would be foolish if I said that the league doesn't have some sort of agenda where LeBron is concerned. The officiating last night was atrocious.

If the refs really wanted they could have called a foul on Williams for the block when Lebron was driving, but the refs swallowed the whistle. If Williams doesn't foul him trying to cut him off, Lebron never throws up that weak stuff at the basket. The refs missed the Z push, but something HAD to be called with the way Sammy ran into Brown.
It's over. Live with it and quit crying about it. We played like **** for most of the game. We didn't deserve it.

Oh, i'll live with it, believe me. Especially when considering the alternative(playing Orlando). However, that doesnt mean that I agree that just because we played like **** means that the Cavs should get unjustifed free throws at the end of the game

You asked if they deserved the win, I said yes they do. Lebron could have just as easily been on the line. Unjustified in your eyes. Not so much mine.

Noone, do you happen to recall what happened to Iguodala on the final play in Cleveland? He was smacked twice upside the head by Iglouskas. Guess what? Unlike our "home court' officiating, LOL, no foul was called and we lost the game.
And while I agree that we played like crap most of the game, most NBA games are decided in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter, where we outplayed them. The truth is, Cleveland was given this one and most level-headed fans of the sport will recognize this.

I know the refs swallow their whistles late in the game, and they did for the foul on Lebron. But that doesn't mean that you can hit a player like you're about to tackle him and not expect to get called for the foul. Heck, Sammy's reaction shows that he wasn't surprised the foul was called. And instead of complaining about the push from behind, he's banging on the pad around the basket.
And someone said the refs should have reviewed whether the foul occurred or not. But in that case they should have also reviewed whether Lebron got fouled or not. Either way it doesn't look good for the Sixers.

The only reason Sam would plow into Brown like that is because he was shoved. And the replay clearly showed Ilgouskas pushing him because as soon as he did it, he put his hands up as if to say, "not me". Sam also got kneed in the head, so who knows what was going through his mind. But yeah, ideally, his reaction would have been a little different. Either way, it's over now. And the fact that Pavs may be out for the playoffs almost justifies our team forfeiting the game because of a BS call.
But to be honest, I lost a lot of respect for LeBron in this game. My impression of him in the past was that he was a little more modest. However, after witnessing his show-boating spectacle last night, I now consider him a pompous buffoon. He's immensely talented but his sportsmanship is completely lacking. He's almost reached Kobe's level of egomaniacal behavior.

King James can put on a show if he wants to. He's good enough, and it doesn't bother me.
Its immature if a player does some sort of showboating in a game when they are down by 20 (remember McCants celebrating a dunk earlier this year when they were being killed by the Sixers.)
If a player celebrates sponteneously after a great play it just adds to the moment. The whining is annoying, but Lebron isn't on most stars level when it comes to whining.

The foul was ticky tack AT BEST.
MUCH worse happens on last second plays on a nightly basis in the league. The ref should have swallowed his whistle on that one for sure

To answer the question of this thread. No, they didn't deserve the win. I'm not one to ever make excuses about sixer losses, but last night's game is certainly an exception. The contact wasn't blatant or deliberate enough to warrant a foul call in a game ending situation. Its common for fouls to occur in closing moments with no call being made, and its uncommon for there to be a situation like that of last night. Reason being that the refs are supposed to swallow their whistles and let the players decide the outcome of the game in the closing moments.... last night's outcome was decided by the officials.

Initially I thought the refs made the right decision, but after reviewing the replay they didn't. Dalembert looked to have been pushed by Ilgauskas.
Either there should have been a foul called on Ilgauskas or no call at all. I don't think the refs should have called anything. As a Cavs fan I'll take it, but Philly should have gotten the win.

I don't like it when refs are blamed. They make mistakes, but I don't think the fix was in (although the way it played out made the refs look bad and indecisive.)
If you are up by less than 3 pts near the end of the game ots your own fault if the outcome goes against you on a refs call. If you take care of business you won't be so reliant on a call going your way.
I get frustrated with refs when a player ends up in early foul trouble due to ticky-tack fouls. That can put key players on the bench and have a huge effect on the game. I'm not nearly as bothered by end of game calls, since they really often go either way.

Even though the foul call sucks I think it may have helped in the end. I believe we match up better against Detroit than Orlando.
We have to find a way to stop their outside shooters.

Sixer fans need to move on...tough loss, but it's over. Too much ahead of the team to dwell on this loss.

This was probably mentioned, but as soon as I heard what happened, my first thought was that this may light a fire under the team.

Anyone notice how because we are not a team under the spotlight nobody cares? If this had happened to a team like the Lakers it would be a huge deal.

The Sixers sealed their fate as the No. 7 seed and the Pistons' first-round opponent when they lost a controversial game Monday night to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The controversy involved a foul with 0.2 seconds left that put Cavs forward Devin Brown at the line for the two winning foul shots.
Pistons coach Flip Saunders called the incident "very weird."
"He probably got fouled, but (Sixers center Samuel Dalembert) also got pushed by (Cavs center Zydrunas) Ilgauskas into the foul," Saunders said. "You don't see that, especially on the road. You don't see those types of things too often."
Glad to know it's not just us who see it this way...
