your attitude toward lebron

Post#1 » by psykosacul » Tue Apr 15, 2008 10:07 pm

disclaimer: this post has nothing to do with the controversial call against the cavs.

i never understood the people who seemed to hate jordan just because he was jordan. it was like they were bitter or just clearly didnt like him because he didnt have any edit major edit faults. maybe the tongue ticked them off...

but lately ive been growing sour on lebron. a player similar in my eyes as to how he is taking the league by storm and is sometimes a one man wrecking crew. its not that lebron is good. its not that he takes too many shots, or has the ball too much. its not even that the rest of his team sucks and doesnt deserve to make the playoffs...

its his growing arrogance that annoys me. everytime he makes a steal, or dunks a ball he gives the crowd a smug look like he is at some And 1 show. and he shows his immaturity (and why id still take kobe over him) when he takes needless 25 footers in a fadeaway style, and leaves his hand up in the air as he backs toward midcourt. (he typically misses the shot)

admittedly im an old school guy and im a bit of a stickler to the shut up and play motto. but the guy is just too full of himself lately. i never used to see this in him, but it sure does seem like he is starting to love himself more than the game.

co-signed. I have no animosity to towards him b/c of last night. if you gripe w/ anyone its the refs, but i think whats done is done and we'll catch his azz next year.

when gibson won the mvp in the rookie game and he pushed jamario moon to get some camera time, that was the nail in the coffin.

his game is so enjoyable to watch but the guy has become a giant tool. heaven forbid he ever wins a championship. i suppose you can't get told that your the 2nd coming of jordan/best thing since slice bread a billion times and not become an egomaniac.

Come out and say it. The guy is a ****head. He tries so hard to maintain his "quiet confidence" facade but it just comes off totally forced. Watching the sport center highlights showed his arrogance as well, when he was cracking up while Devin Brown was shooting the final free throws. he bitches to the refs, but the difference is that the refs are actually interested in what he has to say.

It is interesting that the both Kobe and Lebron come off as fake (but the same could have been said of Jordan, he was just a better actor.)

Some guys like AI, for better or worse, truly wear their heart on their sleeves. Guys like Lebron have been in the media glare so long any real personality they had probably died long ago.

I don't know. I think the truly great ones have that arrogance/confidence. Michael certainly had it. I respect that. As an opposing fan I don't like that, but if he were on my team, I'd friggin love it.

I don't really mind his attitude, although he can get a bit cocky. But I feel that if he weren't allowed to travel so often then he would not be as effective.

i guess jordan was more of a quiet confidence or trash talking his opposition. Lebron is more of seeking limelight constantly. but yeah, most of us would love it or atleast tolerate it if he was a 6er.

And Jordan didn't? Really? He's been out of the league for like 5 years and he's still doing commercials.

jordan is doing commercials to further a brand and make sales. with clear business moves i don't care what either one does, do what you have to do.

i've never seen jordan shove someone out the way to get to a camera.

I've said before that lebron is my favorite player outside the sixers but that doesn't mean he isn't a camera whore and doesn't make it any less anoying.

Agreed 100%. My respect for LeBron really plummeted last night. The constant gloating, etc. after a big play really pissed me off. I wish we had a PF with with Coleman's bad-boy attitude who wasn't afraid to knock LeBron on his azz. Seriously, last night proved to me that this teak is without an enforcer. This team needs a PF with attitude who's willing to hard foul guys who come into our house and pull this ****. Who else is on board for signing Kenny George just for occasions like this?

And back to that "dirtiest player in the nba" thread, I now thing hands down it's Ilgouskas. The guy knocked Iguodala's head off when we played them in Cleveland and this time he shoves Sam into Devon Brown. The guy is showing himself to be classless.

He was my least favorite NBA player before this game, so nothing much has changed anyway.

I'm a Sixers fan. Besides, who wouldn't want Lebron James on their team?

You're simple :nonono:
