Second Level Young PF's

Assuming we can make a move for one of these players without giveng up too much, who would be the best fit? I tried to limit this to players who should be available for the right price.

Keep in mind some of these players are up for extensions after next year.

Wilcox is probably the most established player, but also will demand a big extension next year- which might tie the Sixers hands if they want to go after a bigger name PF later.

I left out Maxiel, Milsap, Lee, Blatche and Amir Johnson, because I think they would be extremely costly given how their teams value them.

I'm all about Bass. I think the guy still has a lot of potential, and has plenty of size to play next to teh slight Dalembert. Bass won't get pushed off the block

i like bass as well. i think he would fit our style the best. he basically reggie with a face up game inside 17 ft and a low post game to boot. tough and will come cheap enough if the mavs let him go

From the list I would go with CV or Wilcox. I don't think Frye even qualifies as second tier any more. Add Tyrus Thomas instead of frye and my vote would go to Thomas.

Oops, forgot TT. I guess you can make him a write in candidate.

I really like Bass and Powe's scoring inside OFF THE BENCH, but Frye just outclasses them with his height and automatic jump shot AS A STARTER. As a GM I wouldn't take the huge gamble of trying to project Bass and Powe as starters when I already know what Frye will contribute as a starter. Starting Brandon Bass and Powe could end up being like starting Corliss Williamson, he just losses his edge competing against the other teams' starters every night.

I'm scared...SendEm and I both voted for Frye...this can't be!!

I do agree with your comments on this one as well. Bass is interesting, but I think Frye's more established in what he can do when he gets PT.

I like what Frye brings talentwise, but wonder why he earned so few minutes for Portland. Is it solely because he was stuck behind Aldridge?

Looking at 82 games, Frye's numbers are good- particularly on the boards. He has good length and is a good athlete.

The only negative I saw was that he shoots too many jumpers (72% of his shots), but he shots them at a reasonably good percentage, and I bet his inside numbers would go up playing with Iguodala and Miller (assuming Miller is still here.)

I like WIlcox, but I voted CV.

He can hit the three and rebounds. If he doesn't work out as a starter, he's a good option to have off the bench, when we get an established PF.
