Does anyone else wish we had Iverson back?

Post#1 » by carlos1223 » Thu Apr 24, 2008 3:38 am

I honestly feel that a real go to scorer such as AI would have helped a lot in this series. Detroit would have no way of stopping im. We dont have any go to scorer's on this team. We need a real superstar and after tonight its clear that Iggy isnt gonna cut it. He chokes in games where it counts and we need somone who can handle pressure .AI fits the bill. What do you think?

Lou Williams fills the same role as AI but is more efficient and less flashy. Both present issues for us on defensive matchups. What this team really needs is a natural SG and a PF with post moves. You give us these two pieces and we'll be fine.

???

That's not funny at all.

What Louis Williams provides is offense, similar to Iverson.

Of course, Williams will never be as good as Iverson. Iverson is more willing to attack the basket, something we truly lack, but Williams has proven to be a fairly consistent scorer.

Pure Nonsense, Williams is not consistent and is not ain anyway comparable to Iverson. I'm watching AI keeping Denver alive against the Lakers. They would be down by 20 or more if not for him

Similar is a relative word.

Definitely not anywhere near as efficient as Iverson. Plus seeing as Lou plays like half as many minutes they don't exactly fit the same role.

No, I don't actually want him back. I did for last night's game. But I want guys like Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups who can score without dominating the ball.

I Do and if you're really happy about this sixer's team's ability to get blown the F out and having questionable talent and a need to upgrade at almost every position on the floor, then you're being Hopelessly optimistic about this team's future. We overachieved this year just like we did in 2001 but this time we overachieved just enough to get into the playoffs. Whoopee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had hoped the Iverson threads were long gone... No, I do not with Iverson was back in Philly...

I'd rather have a young team with a promising future get blown out by the Pistons than a medicare team year after year...

We're tied 1-1 with the Detroit Pistons heading back to Philly.... Despite last night's blowout, I'd say we've overachieved thus far in the playoffs as well. Some of you people act like Iverson actually beat this Detroit team when he was here in Philly...

just what i was thinking. and i mentioned this to my friend today because he said karl should have called iverson out in the media when iverson just walked off the court yapping to the ref instead of defending (i didnt see it he just told me about it)

i said to my friend... karl cant call him out. karl has to walk on eggshells because 1. iverson will get him fired, or 2. iverson wont resign with the because he doesnt like karl and karl will be blamed for him leaving and 3. even though people THOUGHT denver didnt give up anything to get him... turns out they did... because miller has shown his value with us.

Not for a second. Sure he would score 40 a game, but he would take 30 shots to do it.. Meanwhile Billups would be scoring 37 a game on 15 shot attempts with Iverson guarding him. The positives wouldn't outweigh the negatives.
