Tommorrow is the NFL DRAFT. What do you guys expect to go down? Who will we take in round 1? Will we move up? What trades will go down? Will we get a receiver?

What I want - LIMAS SWEED
What I think we'll get - Chris Williams
What we REALLY need - Probably Felix Jones

I think we get a reciever in the second round

Since the Freddie Mitchell experiment went awry, I think Andy has tremors at the thought of drafting a WR in round 1.

Yeah for sure. I just think Sweed's size and big-game experience will serve him well as a pro.

I think Chris Williams will happen.

I wouldn't mind it if the Eagles drafted an O-lineman with their first pick..they'll probably have to move up to get one worth it, though

Runyan and Trey are getting old..and having tackle issues is never a good thing

I hope in the second round they get a WR or someone for the secondary that is also an explosive return man.. the special teams need some serious help starting with the returner

I think you guys are facing the same issue I am...I think the Steelers will end up drafting either an OL/DL, but my hope is for a big WR. They do need to get some younger talent on both lines, but Hines Ward probably only has 1-2 more productive seasons left, and they need to give a talented WR a year or two to develop into a first or second WR. If Limas Sweed is the Steelers 3rd/4th WR next season, the offense will have enough talent to be pretty explosive.

My thought...they trade down for more picks or take the OT from BC (Cherilus). My hope...Sweed or Kelly or Hardy after trading down a few spots.

I have to be honest. I'm not an Eagles fan. But I do watch alot of Eagle games, as well as other teams. IMHO, the Eagles would be dumb to pass on a RB. And the RB they need, and who would be perfect for them is Oregon's Stewart. This guy is a true load. I have seen him for two years run HARD going behind a bad, real bad O-Line in Oregon.

McFadden is a joke. And Felix Jones, please! Those two played off each other the way several college teams have done with two high yardage RB's. I hate seeing a Classy, and great skill player like Westbrook have to get killed back there when they try to run him in a standard package. Combine Westbrook and Stewart in the same backfield, and the D won't have a clue. Do they commit hard at the line for Stewart. How to they cover Westbrook if he goes in motion for a possible pass ? I guarantee you there are FEW defensive players who can cover Westbrook one on one, so if they commit 2 players when he is in motion, and they all of a sudden do a power sweep to Stewart ??/ Well, lets just say that won't bold to well for the defense :-)

I really Love Stewart. He killed a great USC defense, and Cap defense. While Mcfadden in 2 straight games against USC was stopped cold.
Eagles can definitely use a WR. But I see no real clear cut guarantee of one when they pick, or in this draft period. They might get just as good of one in round 2, or even 3. But a 235 Lb Stewart, who is pretty damn fast and a great low gravity, down field runner are NOT available that low. He shouldn't even be available when Philly picks. But I guess some GM's are stupid!

I'm not all that hype for the draft tomorrow but I do think the Birds will be pretty active. A lot of "experts" seem to think the team will trade up in Round 1 and that's always exciting. The idiot in me is hoping we make a trade for a veteran receiver during day 1.

Whatdyu guys think of what the Birds have done today?

DeSean Jackson looks like good value. They needed a return man and a WR with explosive playmaking ability, so it's nice to see Andy break down and take a WR relatively early. This kid looks like he's got some serious speed which is nice. But 5'9" scares me a little bit. I hope Manningham doesn't turn into that bonafied, big #1 target that I suspect he might...

Early thoughts on day 1?

absolutely love the jackson pick!
this guy wouldve been a 1st round pick if not for an injury riddled senior yaer.

he is deadly fast and is working with JERRY RICe on his route running.

instantly improves our return game and that's something we've needed for awhile now...i mean chicago goes to the playoffs every year with only devin hester scoring touchdowns.

they had me worried after they traded down twice.. but i think it's been a great draft so far for the Eagles

we get that returner we need.. not sure how great of a WR he will be but if he ends up being a decent one it's icing on the cake (i think he'll be a great returner)

all i know about Trevor Laws is what i've heard/read today after the pick.. he sounds like a good run stopper, and we could use one

and i love getting Carolina's #1 next year

This has been a great weekend so far. Sixers win big Friday, and the Steelers knock me off my seat today. Mendenhall and Sweed?? Great playmaking weapons for this team. Neither needs to be 'the man' early, but both have the potential to be all league studs at their positions in the next few seasons. A little different than the normal drafting pattern employed by the Steelers, but all of the 1st round quality OL were gone by their pick and they got two tremendous weapons to add to this team. Need to address the OL, DL, S in day 2, but those positions are OK for next season, and are easier (except for S) for a rookie to step in and contribute right away if they need to get one next season.

Even with this draft, I'm not sure they make the playoffs this season(schedule is incredibly difficult), but they put themselves in a great position for the future. There's a big OL from Auburn that may be a nice 3rd round pick...if they get him, I will be very pleased with the draft. Last year's draft was a bit disappointing, but so far they have nailed it this year.

I like what the Eagles have done so far.

That 2009 CAR #1 is a nice chip to have, especially if they combine it with Lito.

FINALLY, KR is addressed.

So far so good.

If they go to Lehigh with either Johnson or Williams because of the #1 they got from the Panthers, this will have been a great draft.

Birds just took a corner.

So does that spell a Lito trade or what?!

Seems like the writing's on the wall...

Lito + Carolina's 2009 1st = Roy Williams? Chad Johnson?

Bengals took not one but 2 WRs in the first 3 rounds....

I'm beginning to see visions of Ocho Cinco in green.

Ikegwuonu (the CB) wrecked his knee in January, and will miss most if not all of the season, so it's still possible that they could keep Lito if only for one more year

I'm starting to hope we keep him as long as they redo his contract and make him happy (I still doubt that happens, though). Lito + Carolina's 1st is a lot to give up IMO

and if we move Brown to safety we could have an awesome secondary

but of course I wouldn't complani about getting Roy Williams or 85 either

NFL.com wrote: Round 2, Pick 16 (47) (From Vikings) Trevor Laws DT 6'1" 304 Notre Dame
Pick Analysis:Laws is an intelligent player, who the Eagles most likely took because of his fit in their 4-3 scheme. If not for that, Laws likely would have not gone this high. But his motor and his ability to read plays will be a good addition for Philly.

Round 2, Pick 18 (49) DeSean Jackson WR 6'0" 178 California
Pick Analysis:Donovan McNabb gets the playmaker he's been coveting in Jackson. A deep threat, Jackson is in the mold of Carolina's Steve Smith -- a small but shifty receiver, who gives the Eagles their most explosive weapon since Terrell Owens, as well as a potentially great punt returner.

Round 3, Pick 17 (80) Bryan Smith OLB 6'2" 228 McNeese State
Pick Analysis:Smith is an undersized player who weights only 228 pounds, but has great speed. He wowed the scouts at his pro day and had some academic problems, which is why he ended up at McNeesse State. The Eagles like those small defensive ends and have done pretty well with them. It looks like he could find a home at weakside linebacker.

Round 4, Pick 10 (109) (From Panthers) Mike McGlynn OT 6'5" 318 Pittsburgh
Pick Analysis:McGlynn came to the Senior Bowl and really raised eyebrows at guard. He's a very physical player - at Pitt he was in a scuffle every day, and made 42 starts

Round 4, Pick 18 (117) (From Vikings) Quintin Demps FS 6'0" 206 Texas-El Paso
Pick Analysis:Demps was a three-year starter at Texas-El Paso who recorded a lot of interceptions (17). He also had 275 tackles in college and ran an extremely impressive 4.39 40-yard dash at the combine. He's a rangy player and could end up a good cover-two safety.

Round 4, Pick 32 (131) (Compensatory selection) Jack Ikegwuonu CB 5'11" 194 Wisconsin
Pick Analysis:Ikegwuonu is a solid player, but his draft status took a serious hit after he tore his ACL in January. This is the point of the draft where you may take a player who will not play in the 2007 season, and Ikegwuonu fits the bill in that respect. He is good value at this point in the draft and showed his skills by shutting down receivers such as James Hardy in the Big Ten.

love the Demps pick... our special teams should be a lot better

You almost think both the Eagles and Bengals drafted to make a Johnson trade possible. The Eagles really didn't draft anyone noteworthy, but did a great job getting a #1 from Carolina. If they can move Lito for a #2 next season (personally, I'd keep him), trade both #1s for Johnson, they would have had a great off season. The Bengals drafted 3 WRs, so you have to think Johnson is going to be moved. Usually the Eagles draft very well, but this draft is puzzling, unless they pull off a trade for Johnson.

Love the Steelers draft. Wish they would have gotten a DL to develop, but their top 6 is pretty solid there, so it can wait. Mendenhall and Sweed are huge additions. As long as Sweed's wrist is back to 100%, he's the best big WR in the draft and fills a huge void.

Thank God that is something I don't have to worry about with this Eagles FO. I don't want any part of Chad Johnson, let alone give up two first rounders for him.

Overall with the draft I was pretty happy. I was hoping for either Williams or Albert to fill our OL needs, but once they were gone I was thrilled we traded out and got all that we did.

Trevor Laws immediately becomes our third DT, which is something we needed.

DeSean was a good value at #49. I really didn't want him in the first round because I believe he will never be a starting caliber WR, but he is an electric PR, something we haven't had in ages.

I like the Demps pick. Also, Castillo seems to do well working with OL prospects, so I'm glad we picked up a couple of players.
