Hmmm, seeing that LB is all about the young athletic defensive minded big men, I can't see him allowing the Bobcats to let go of Okafor. Tough break for us, although I was never too keen on Okafor. Not enough offense to draw the double teams, and still a bit of an injury worry.

That being said, I think this is a great move for Charlotte. They've got some decent pieces and I can see them being a young scrappy team like ours, especially when Larry starts preaching, "play the right way".

Thoughts?

Okafor is Brown's kind of player but I don't know that J-Rich or Morrison will last long with LB.

Lol. Wildfire, youve been crackin me up during the playoffs man.

Great call on Okafor. Charlotte will certainly match any offer now. I'm with you, though, I never saw him as the right fit unless you package Sammy for a PF like Bosh. But that's a moot point now.

LB is going to get so frustrated with that situation, I only give him 2 years max. J-Rich and Gerald Wallace play the same position, and they both make entirely too much money on long-term deals. It will be hard for MJ to pawn either of those contracts on someone else, especially considering there's such a surplus of talent at the SF position league-wide. (Not to mention, he's just not a good GM). LB will surely play GM for that team. Perhaps they could send J-Rich to MIL in a deal for Redd. Who knows.

But that team will have little flexibility after they pay Okafor. LB must've really gotten the itch watching our Sixers make this playoff run. Charlotte looks doomed to the lottery for the forseeable future. Sean May had a very serious injury and he never showed anything anyways. Felton looks like an average NBA PG. Those wing players are nothing special. And Morrison is an injury-prone, one-dimensional jump-shooter.

Maybe they'll get a stud with that 8th pick. No doubt Larry goes for Kevin Love right there. He definitely "plays the right way." We'll see. To me, that team looks rather stuck.

Michael Jordan and Larry Brown basically in charge of player personnel. True, Okafor won't go anywhere, but just about any other player is likely to be shipped out the minute he falls out of favor with LB. Expect quick improvement, peak around the second round of the playoffs and a quick burn out. The average age of the team will be 32 in two years after a few trades by LB and MJ.

I wonder if LB tries to get any of the current Sixers from Ed (in addition to Ollie)?

I LOVE Thaddeus Young, but at the same time, I wouldn't mind seeing him go in a trade that nets us Jason Richardson. Iguodala's a good 2 guard in the league. He just doesn't have the handles to break down defenses. That's where Jason Richardson could come in. He could be Iguodala's dream partner.

+1. Are you for real?

Yes, I'm for real. Getting an explosive wing man to pair with Iguodala will be good for the franchise. Next best thing to getting that dominate big man. Doesn't mean I want to trade Young, means I feel the option is available to us for the right price.

Hands off Thadeus dude, don't even postulate about stuff like that. Now Andre Miller for Jason Richardson might interest LB. Miller "plays the game the right way" (he really does), is a wily veteran and has been watched closely by LB for the last year or so as he rapidly improved a young team. There would be enough minutes for Iggy, Richardson and Young as sixth man backing up both forward spots. Throw in Willie Green for Matt Carroll, sort of a salary dump for Charlotte, but it does give us a three point specialist off the bench. Of course, then we need a PG, but our need at PF won't necessarily be for a big time scorer anymore.

Jason Richarson is nothing more than a gunslinger. He is clearly one of the most selfish players in the league. That is why Okafor was only 4th on the team in shots. Charlotte was one of the dumbest teams in the league. Charlotte believes you work the game from the outside. I believe you go inside ist and draw fouls.

Seriously, Dedicated just committed complete credibility suicide with that one. Wow. Thaddeus is simply untradeable.

As for the Miller to LB idea, what about sending Miller to CHA for their 8th pick? Sounds like LB material to me. Unless he's smitten with Kevin Love, which is entirely possible.
