we all knew it was coming but thad young is on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team per the wiretap. I think he was robbed out of the 1st team.

Al thorton i can handle, but jeff green? robbery i say.

Same thought when I saw Jeff Green.

I had the same thought about J. Green; but hey, T. Young gets recognized for his efforts, and that should be good for him and the team.

Even Thornton is debatable. He was the 1st and 2nd option on the Clippers for the last half of the year, and he shot 43%.

Green is an absolute joke, he had about 2 or 3 good games all year (and he was second option). He shot 43% as well, and only scored 10 points a game.

I wouldn't argue if Moon was on over either of them or Thad (which he would have been otherwise, he had the next highest point total). But these guys were alright on pitiful teams while Thad and Moon were putting up solid numbers on playoff teams (though Moon probably had the whole age thing going against him).

At some point, impact rather than stats has to start being evaluated when making these teams.

Or they should start using different stats...

its crazy that picks 12-17 will probably pan out that most of the picks 1-11...(aside from oden,durant,horford)

Green got in based on draft position and proximity to Kevin Durant. Maybe he is being given credit for helping the Celtics to the best regular season record via Ray Allen. Like the ROTY voting it is more of a popularity contest than a thought out, well analyzed process. I'll take second team for Thad, but he's first team in my opinion.

I could see Green being on the 2nd or 3rd team, but first? Thats pretty damn generous IMO.

i don't really care about those blind judges.We all know what Thad can, i I really belive he can end up being 3/4th best player in this draft(besides oden,durant and maybe horford)

Green probably got the nod because he had a pretty good last month. He averaged like 16-6 in March plus his 27 & 35 point games that were probably fresh in the mind of the voters.

If Thad was not going to make the first team, I would have voted for Moon over Green. Green got a lot of opportunities for a terrible team and disappeared in most games. Moon played an important role for a playoff team and did so for a longer time than Thad, although Thad was bigger for us in the playoff drive.

The Sonic players were horrible. Kevin Durant pulled up terrible stat line after terrible stat line while shooting at an Allen Iverson-Esque percentage. Unacceptable for a 6'9 "shooting guard". Jeff Green? I haven't heard from him since the draft.

After the All-Star break Durant shot 48% and average 22 points. Hardly terrible stat line after terrible stat line.

It's hard to pick between Green and Thad. Based on numbers Green has the edge. Thad however didn't get the minutes, Green had either. I fully get your arguement for Thad. In fact I wouldn't have been surprised if Thad made it and Green didn't.

But if you look at the month of Febuary where they both averaged 29 minutes Green still had the edge.

Good news is that rookie years don't mean squat. A career is not defined by a rookie team selection. Hopefully for Philly fan this will just give Thad more motivation to work harder.
