If Iverson opted out of his Denver deal and agreed to sign a 3yr 30 million contract with the Sixers...would Stefanski do it? Should he do it?

We still wouldn't have a PF and it's ONLY an interesting idea because Andre Miller is on the team. But Miller only has a single year left on his contract which means WE LOSE if Miller leaves after next season and we are stuck with AI, no PF, and no PG.

Would I want him to? Yes. Should he do it? No.

I would love to have the little man back. Allen Iverson, thanks in large part to Jim O'Brien became one of the best point guards in the league. Hell, starting at 2 guard for the Nuggets, AI put up 26/7. It certainly wasn't his fault the Nuggets didn't have any defensive prowness whatsoever in the playoffs. And at this point, Andre Iguodala. I'm not sure I like him as much as I did before. Sendem pointed out the fact that Iguodala works off handling the ball at the middle of the floor. That means to keep Iguodala, we would need an Jose Calderon type that shoots the ball. I'm sorry, I'm not buliding around a 15 PPG player. A combination of Miller/Iguodala should net us AI and maybe JR Smith.

Wouldn't even consider it even if he would sign for minimum allowed by the NBA. If he did become available it would be because Denver has had enough also.

not for 10 mil. If he was willing to take a bigger paycut, Id think about it, its been too long sinces iverson played with a true pg but id only consider depending on if we struck out with younger free agents.

So you propose attempting to sign Allen Iverson for less money per season than what Andre Iguodala is speculated to receive?

this is andres first big paycheck.

iverson has plenty of money and is just looking to win(and maybe finish what he started)

so no, I would not be surprised if iverson recieved less than iggy

You provided answers to questions that I didn't ask. I was looking for a yes or no answer to my question Sir. My initial question still remains unanswered Sir.

At 3 yrs for $30 million it would have to be strongly considered. My concern is that even Denver realized AI does not belong at the point, and a defensive back court of Miller and Iverson scares the crap out of me. We would probably outscore a lot of teams in the regular season, but the playoffs would expose that line-up badly.

I'm not trying to live in the past. Someday I'd like to see my Sixers in the 2nd round of the playoffs again and Iverson doesn't help achieve that.

The only reason to consider this would be from the owners viewpoint, and that would be to bring the missing fans back.

Iverson was loved by the fans and the papers,he made good copy. The sixers presently have no real top of the line player to bring in fans.

We are probably the only team that is in the playoffs that could not get a full house. This is sad.

I personally would not like to see Iverson back in a sixer uniform.

I think this can be summed up with the 'vomits in mouth' comment that someone else used in another thread. Wasn't a decade of self inflicted (not trading him earlier) pain enough??

It doesn't matter because there is no chance that Ed Snider would approve it.

AI would be good to come back to Philly for a retirement contract, ya know sign it to say he retired a Sixer. The team would not be smart to use any cap space on him otherwise IMO.

This team made HUGE progress this year and now you want to bring back Iverson? There's a reason his team got swept in the first round, and yes, he had something to do with it.

Hahaha.....Oh wait, you're serious....Hahaha

The Lakers: 7'0 Pao Gasol, 6'10 Lamar Odom, 6'10 Vladmir Radmonvich, 6'6 Kobe Bryant.

The only player Allen Iverson could guard in that lineup was Derek Freaking Fisher. AI had virtually no support from Melo on the defensive end, Martin's just a shotblocker at this stage of his career and Nene's coming off Cancer. The Nuggets frontcourt was WEAK.

At age 33, AI registed 26 pts, 7 AST, and just 2 turnovers a game. Better then more then half the point guards in the league and can only be compared to someone by the name of Chris Paul. Try arguing against a player who DID commit some playoff sins. Ya know, like Iggy?
