HoopsHype has mentioned as well as in one of the Philly newspapers that Ed might be interesed in Chris Wilcox from Seattle? What is everyone take one him? He does like to play with his back to the hoop as well is a young guy and in the final year of his contract, all positive thing in out favor. So what is everyone thoughts....

He would be nice, although he plays pretty terrible defense. He kinda reminds me of Richard Hamilton earlier in his career. He didn't seem worth his draft position. I think a change of scenery could work out for him, but I put about 5-6 other options before him (that are somewhat realistic).

Ed Stefanski might consider making a run at the SuperSonics' Chris Wilcox. The 25-year-old Wilcox has good size (6-foot-10, 235 pounds), likes to play with his back to the basket -- the Sixers desperately need a low-post scorer -- and is heading into the final year of his contract (he'll earn $6.75 million).

If we're not able to get one of the bigger names, then sure, we should give him a shot. I haven't seen him play much, but looking at his stats, he has played well over the past few years. Can score and shoots a high percentage. He would definitely be an improvement...

Frye is the type of gamble we should take.

If he was able to average 12 and 5 on a Knicks team for 24mpg, imagine what he could do starting on the Sixers playing with Andre Miller, and his Arizona teammate Iguodala.

He can probably be obtained for cheap, no more than our current first and another player, Carney/Green?

He also has size, so he can backup Sam from time to time, in certain matchups.

In Philly he'll have the opportunity to show what he's made of, and grow in an environment with great team chemistry.

Isn't Frye more of a soft, perimeter player rather than physical? I remember when he was on the Knicks he was listed as a SF/PF.

Wilcox doesn't play D & will want to sign a big contract after next year. Frye is soft as Charmin. Would it hurt to try either player? No. Would you give up value for either one (pick #16)? IMO the answer is still No.

I'd personally pass on both Frye and Wilcox and pursue Villanueva or Turiaf if we're talking about second tier PF's. Ideally, we get our big body PF/C via Marreese Speights with our 16th pick but it wouldn't hurt getting a finesse PF like Villanueva as well.

You want to give a ist round pick for Frye? That is a huge mistake. This guy plays like a soft SF. Why do you think the Knicks got rid of him, after a year earlier Isiah Thomas said he was untouchable. Portland would dump him in a heartbeat. I totally pass on this guy. At least Wilcox can be a force on the inside. Then you draft Speights and Thompson to back up Wilcox and all of of sudden Lou Williams has a front court player to score points. Toss in Wille Green off the bench playing against bench players, where Willie would tear up bench players on opposing teams.

If Ed plays his cards right, the 76ers can be a very good team next year. Ed must deal with reality first and tell himself, I need to get 3 players to get to the upper level of the conference. Wilcox+ Speights or Thompson and Shan Foster. Knockem dead, Spotlight Ed, I am with you.

You said it all. He is totally incapable of being a backup center. He likes to shoot long baseline shots. Tthe 76ers fans at the game would make Frye a target for booing.
