Can we keep our 2008 2nd round pick?

Do we have this pick? It's supposedly Top 45 protected - and according to all of the news listings yesterday (including from NBA.com) - we have pick #44, not #46. If this is the case, is this basically at our discretion to keep or not keep depending on who's on the table?
While we're at it - did anyone ever confirm exactly what the "future considerations" were in the Fesenko trade last year?
