I just read a couple of blurbs on hoopshype that talked about how Dumars may blow up the core of the Pistons. The feeling is that the most likely candidate to go is Rasheed. It also said that Dumars may try to package Rasheed with another player or two.
Given the close relationship he has with Cheeks could anyone see us making a play for him? Maybe a S&T with Igoudala?
The only problem (aside from his on the court antics) would be his age. I see as a possible short term fix rather than a long term solution. I also don't know how he would mesh with our core and how he fits in with the up-tempo style we want to play.
Thoughts?
Could Sheed be an option?

If the price isn't much for Sheed, I think that would actually be a great fit and he would enjoy the opportunity to come home and retire and play for Mo. It wouldn't take Iggy in a S&T to get him either. The only hairy thing would really be getting the contracts to work out.
We could still draft a young PF to play behind Sheed and develop. It might actually be a great scenario, all of the young guys could compliment Sheed and Miller towards the end of their careers meanwhile grooming their replacements. His presence on this team would definitely make the Sixers one of the better teams in the East. In all honestly, the only veteran PF that I would prefer to Sheed would be Brand, and I think we can get Sheed for a lot less than it would take for Brand in a S&T.

Sheed if left to his own devices is a loser. It just has been forgotten how much of a loser and team cancer he is UNLESS he is surrounded by NBA vets that can actually perform at a high level. Sheed is a "bad guy" turned "good guy" when he's winning but he is the WORST player to have on a losing team ESPECIALLY at this point in his career. Plus there's no upside to this. His skills are going to depreciate every year and the Sixers are far far far away from winning a CHIP. I like Sheed as a PF/C but that's only for a team that was a contender WITHOUT him. The Suns, Jazz, Spurs, and Mavs could really use him.

I'm not sure why Detroit wants to blow it up. I mean, they were still very dominant this year and they were one, amped up, Garnett-lead team away from the finals. Also, they have a bench now chalk full of young go getters (Stuckey, Maxiell, Johnson). If I ran Detroit, I would take one more crack at it next year with their current roster intact. Then let Sheed walk and take the savings next year.
Two years from being two years away.

Billups is washed up, he signed that big time contract and he now is comfortable. Dumars needs to make one of his great moves and maximize on Billups value NOW before he becomes viewed as a huge contract. But the easiest way for Detroit to win another championship is to replace their bench SG with someone that can actually play like Magette.

It does appears to be a great time for the pistons to deal Wallace.
1.The pistons would in no way be viewed by the b ball worldas rebuilding if they trade Rasheed (you would call a transaction like that tinkering)
2. Assuming that I am correctly understanding the vision that stephanski has projected for the sixers Sheed will be considerded as a great off season pickup
3.The pistons value cap relief and draft picks. And future draftpicks
4. One time I had a three hundred dollar iceberg t shirt that didnt fit me but I stillll purchased the shirt anyway I pulled and stretched and sculpted the shirt. Until it was playing enough to go the party.
5. Sheed is good enough to get stephanski to the party
6. Rasheeeds mind or any other mind is not intimidating enough to singlehandley destroy the 2009 10 and 11 76ers
