There have been rumors about Wade going to Chicago, most likely in exchange for their pick and filler. I know we're not close to the #1 pick at 16 but that being said, I wonder if there is some sort of package we could put together involving Iguodala, our 16th pick, etc. that would interest Miami. I know Wade is their "franchise" player but he's also somewhat damaged goods considering his recent injury history - and in my estimation, a gamble.

I'm sure they'd need more than our 16th and Iguodala in return for Wade. I haven't looked at the salaries to see what works and what doesn't. I'm sure if we had a top 5 pick, the idea of sending Iguodala and our draft pick would be much more appealing - but COULD Stefanski land a top 5 pick from another team in return for Miller or Iguodala - and if so, would a deal bringing Wade here make sense?

My thoughts on this are that Iguodala and Thaddeus are too similar and we may be trying to fit a square peg in a round hole by moving Iguodala to SG. On the other hand, Wade is a natural 2 guard. Future lineup?

PG: Lou Williams (assuming Miller is traded in the deal for a top 5 pick)
SG: Dwayne Wade, (assuming Iguodala is used in the deal), WG
SF: Thaddeus Young, Carney
PF: Free Agent PF i.e. J. Smith, (Hoping for Speights or Green with our 16th)
C: Dalembert, Jason Smith

Chicago's insane to get the injury prone Wade. I think their backcourt is the least of their problems. They need some interior and post presence. Wade gives them neither.

The asking price will most certainly exceed our pool of assets.

Even with that being said, I can't foresee Wade having a long successful career with his style of play. He's already having injury problems and can't see making him the focal point of any LT franchise plan. Uber fun to watch, sure. But he throws his body around and puts a beating on himself.

He came in the same year as Lebron & Melo but the tail end years of those careers are going to be vastly different imo.

Iguodala, Dalembert, Thad, #16, and Lou Williams MIGHT get it done....

Miami isn't looking to Re-Build again, rather Re-Tool with Wade as the building block already in place.

They are looking to surround Wade with a legit star, or two. And, not trade him for "pieces" in hopes of putting a contending team together.

Yeah I agree. Wade is a cash cow and a great player. No reason to trade him unless they got an offer that was out of this world, which that one is.

I think getting the second pick is much more realistic than getting Wade given Miami's reported desire to retool around him.

And that's still not very likely....

Miami could retool rather quickly if Chicago traded for Wade and filler in exchange for their #1.

Just imagine Rose and Beasley together on the Heat. haha, that'd be a fun team to watch. (I know this isn't happening anywhere other than on xbox).

Wade is a proven ELITE NBA player. Rose and/or Beasley aren't special enough prospects to acquire D. Wade. Lebron James and Tim Duncan have been the only clear cut NBA elite prospects in recent memory. Beasley and Rose just don't bring nearly enough talent, skills, and measurables to the table. If Rose were 6'6" and Beasley 6'11" then it would be a different story...

True, but the guy is injured an awful lot.
