I had to think about this one for a few days... Depth-wise, the T wolves need a center. But team needs says they're lacking a go-to scorer and Mccants/Brewer aren't it. OJ would be an upgrade offensively and defensively at the 2, and can probably backup the 1 if needed. I think nbadraft.net has his potential too low, I would say Lopez has less potential than OJ, not the other way around. Also draftexpress has B Lo going at #3, but they suck, so OJ it is...even though he should have been ours, damnit.

I agree, they need to go with a potential star more than draft for need. Juice has the most star potential of these players.

I voted for Lopez, but it was a toss-up wth Mayo. The team has a clear need for a center, primarily because their star Al Jefferson has played very poorly against opposing centers, but performed much better at PF. Also, Mayo seems like a guy who will want to get to a major media market ASAP and may not be a happy camper in Minny.

If I was voting (I'm not), it's Mayo
Also, since the Mayo Clinic is in Minnesota, get ready for years of lame jokes.

Lol @ Mayo becoming the 3rd overall pick. When their 2 guard, Rashad McCants just put up a year of 15 PPG and still has room to grow.
Brook Lopez is the obvious selection here. Anytime you get 2 potential/legit big men together in the front court. You do it.

Gallinari, I think he is the third best player in the draft and he would be an excellent compiment to AlJeff

Unless you think Lopez is as good or better than Mayo, you better not pass on the better player at #3 just because you already have the likes of McCants.
By that logic we should not have picked Young because we already had KK, Iguodala and Carney.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are 2 years ahead of us in the rebuliding prospect. They just need a Starting C and some depth.
The only way they take Mayo is if they believe Mayo is better and they don't want to resign Rashad McCants to a good deal.
Brook Lopez is easily the most developed center in the draft. Fills a NEED. And makes them better. All Mayo would do is allow them to use Rashad McCants in a sign-n-trade and god who knows if anyone is gonna give them a Big Man for a little one. The best chance is Memphis. With a Darko+Miller like deal.
