I figured it out, I just went to the Marlins-Phillies game today and it makes sense why Philadelphia constantly has losing franchises, you guys run good players out of town. Every missed basket, bad at bat, poor throw, goal given up, etc. you guys are hard on the player and it depresses the player so much that the player wants to leave. Sure other cities do the same thing to their players, but Philadelphia is leaps and bounds above any other city in performance. I guarantee you if the Marlins squad of 2003 for example were playing in Philadelphia they would not have won the championship. You guys cause too much pressure. Ease up and enjoy the games guys. (My dad is from philly and I was born there so don't say I dunno how you guys think)

So, you are a fan of a team that draws 5 grand a game. Nice.

If you draw 14,000 a game for baseball, simple economics will not only force your good players out of town, but also your team.

Next time you think about posting something like this, remind yourself you're in Florida....where people go to visit or die. You live in a soulless resort state. There is no culture...and no mater how many championships Florida teams win, it will never be a pro sports area.

I feel bad for your Dad...a Philly guy with a presumptuous Marlin fan for a kid.....must be like finding Grape Nuts in your Lucky Charms box.

(Apologies to Dolphin fans...I don't like them...but they're the only pro team with any soul)

Having been out of the Philly area for the past 18 years, it has become clear that Philly fans are no harder on there players than Boston, NY, Detroit or Chicago fans. Fans tend to be passionate, and with exception of a few places like Green Bay, passionate fans tend to get disappointed when their teams don't live up to expectations.

Ahhh.... and with that statement you just showed that you know nothing about Philly's history. Do you know the story of the "Santa Claus" booing?? I'm going to assume not so allow me to give you a brief Cliff's Notes version of it.

In 1968, the Eagles were a terrible team (2-12) and fans were pissed off at the ownership and front office. During half-time of a game in mid-December, the fans were promised a Christmas Parade. Well, due to too much snow being on the ground the floats for the parade wouldn't move so the Eagles asked a 19 year old kid in a shabby old Santa Claus costume to go out on the field and dance around with the cheerleaders. According to reports (and the guy himself) the costume was terrible, the beard was falling down and so the fans booed him and snowballs were tossed.

This story is one of the biggest jokes ever and according to Glen Macnow, this wasn't a story at all when it happened. It wasn't until some time later when Howard Cosell said that Philadelphia fans booed Santa Claus that this story became legend.

Either way, thanks for bringing nothing to the table.

There's no difference between a Philly fan and any other die hard fan from another city.
