Tony DiLeo: would've had Jordan at 36

He was on WIP and confirmed their interest in DeAndre Jordan. He said they had a deal worked out for the 36th pick and if he fell one more spot, they more than likely would've been able to pull off the deal and pick him there.

He said they liked his length and athleticism.

Pretty interesting.

Bummer. I thought he would have been a great 2nd round steal- even if he only developed into a Diop caliber backup center.

I also would not preclude him from replacing Sam in 3 year. I don't give up on centers at age 19.

Here's the thing... pick #36 was traded to the Bulls for THREE future 2nd Rounders. Seeing that Portland doesn't make bad moves anymore, my guess is that we were sending at least that much and while I like Jordan... I don't know that I would have liked that.

Yeah, three second rounders is a big price to pay. I'm hoping herbert hill manages to make his way onto the roster again this year and we will have even more frontcourt depth.

Too high of a price. I'm glad he stuck to his guns.
