Redick = VERY attainable for a rotation Big or PG

I'm sure Redick is available for the right price - but frankly, I don't have anything I would trade for Redick outside of Willie Green.

Look, if we could get Redick for nothing, sure. But we have almost no trade pieces left with a roster of only 10 players and he's definitely not worth trading any kind of draft pick for at this point. No team will take WG or Evans because of the length of their deals, and the only other "tradeable" piece is Smith.

Jason Smith only played a single year, and frankly, I think he was fairly successful in limited minutes when he played. I'd take a 7 ft F/C who can play some backup minutes in the frontcourt over a 3 pt specialist who couldn't even crack a Magic SG rotation that was playing guys like Bogans and Mo Evans in the two years since he was in the league. A 7 footer who can play is just worth more than any kind of little guy. And also, giving up on a trade pick after a single season would seem like a mistake to me as well.

The Lakers may be interested in sending Sasha Vujajic in a S and T to Philly.

I read that the Suns are giving Allan Houston a tryout. I would be interested, but I don't think his knees can hold up. He tried to make a comeback last year, but had to quit after 1 preseason game.

sasha for reggie in a heartbeat. last year, I wouldnt have, but now with brand, Id feel plenty comfortable letting reggie go. Im not saying Id trade him for anything but If you can get an outside threat like sasha, you gota pull the trigger.

Now that Shaun Livingston has been renounced, what if we signed him (not sure if the minimum is enough to get him) as our backup point guard and moved Lou Williams to a backup SG (6th man) role? Or Lou and Livingston could split time as Miller's backup?

I imagine someone would offer him more than the minimum. Not much, but more than the minimum.

I know that this perpetual cloud over my head makes me more pessimistic than most, but I hope Ed does not move Evans. I think it would be worrisome, in this year of such great promise, to entrust a one year player and a rookie to backup two important positions. I am sure we will re-sign Hill or Randolph, or both, or their like, to fill up the roster, but they are no more experienced or proven. Reggie can sub at both positions.

I also hope he keeps Willie Green unless he trades him for a shooter capable of starting. I am worried about Thad's inexperience and no depth at the three spot. Of course Iguodala can go there, but that leaves Lou Wil with no backup at the two (if Green goes) . I think we will go for Ollie or Hunter for the vet minimum, and am hopeful that one or two of the guards on the summer squad pan out.

I also hope we can get a backup three who can shoot for the vet minimum. I do not know why I worry. After the miracle of Elton Brand mere backups should be a cakewalk for Ed. I'm an LB clone so I'm less worried than most about the immediate lack of a lights out three point shooter. That will come someday. We are already much farther ahead than I thought we would be. I do not think that teams will be able to collapse on Brand with impunity because we have five good mid range shooters, three of whom can hit the three with some success. When I was wondering about Kevin Martin's three point percentage compared to Andre's (after a recent discussion), I believe my math (very rusty and probably wrong) came out to one more miss every two games at the lower percentage. (We'll just have to hope that all our guys are on a different miss schedule.)

How about Luther Head? The guy can shoot the lights out and he is athletic. He's not gonna play PG for anyone and he's not a terrific defender because of his size but sixers need a shooter right? You can have him for 2 future 2nd round picks.

Head's good, but he's a little too much like Lou Williams for me. That goes for the JJ Redicks and Salim Stoudamires of the world too. I want a guy who can guard small forwards.

I'm sure Mo Evans and Kareem Rush will garner more than the minimum. So they really gotta go bargain hunting if they don't do a trade.

What about Mickael Gelabale. Certainly not a pure shooter, but shot well in limited attempts last year. Eric Piatkowski isn't a good defender by any means, but he's a guy you can count on to make 2 outta every 5 3s. Casey Jacobsen can't seem to make threes anymore. Hmm.

What about Eddie Jones? He may be a little old, but he can give 10 spot mins @ the 2/3 to spell Dala & Thad.....plus he can still shoot alright.

No interest in Head for 2 2nd rounders. 2nd rounders are important for throw-ins to make trades and the like. I'd take my chances elsewhere.

I understand I'm probably dreaming for even considering that we could pry this guy away from Golden State, but do you guys see any way of acquiring Belinelli? Sign and Trade, perhaps? What would it cost us.. This guy reminds me of a cross between Dirk and Ginobili:

Nice try but Head sucks, no one outside of Houston knows that.

Bellinelli is a nice shooter, but you have to wonder why he hardly saw the floor last season.

I'm hoping Ed takes a serious look at adding Luke Jackson.

He's playing for the Hawks summer league team. First game was yesterday and he put up 20 pts (made 5 3's) with a good amount of rebounds and assists.

Obvioulsy his career has been a disappointment so far, but injuries have really held him back (mainly when he was with the Cavs).

I think he could be a great fit since he's a guy who can play some minutes at both SG and SF. We have a serious hole at backup SF right now (assuming Andre plays SG this year). He would easliy come at something around the minimum salary so I think it's worth a shot. He also very well know to be a "team first" guy which fits the profile of what we want.

Anyone remember this game?

head shot 44% from three point land and made 177 3pters two seasons ago (#6 overall in 3ptm). since those are better numbers than korver ever put up i guess he sucks too.
