Giles is impressive so far for Toronto. Smith/Speights/Thad looking good tonight.

What happened to the delay? I put it on and it's already almost halftime?? Grrrr again. I hate technology and NBA.

You can tell Smith and Speights feel the competition among them. They both are fighting for the spot of 1st or 2nd big off the bench. And it's nice to see they are competing hard.

It's now his 5th game- and Speights has looked good every game. I will never know how he slipped to 16- but thank DiLeo and the basketball gods that he did.

I mean he's supposed to be raw? He's taking charges and spinning away from double teams for hooks and even passing well out of the post. The kid actually looks pretty polished out there. Kudos to the Gators/Donovan for coaching the kid up.

Also, he seems to lack any bad habits. From his jumper to his footwork- so fundamentally sound. We need to keep drafting the so-call raw prospects like Thad and Spieghts...

OK..Speights...WOW. Anyone see that? If that would've gone in, would've been the play of the summer league IMO.

Speights is really impressive. There's no way he gets sent to the d-league like someone said in another thread. I know it's only summer league but he has to be able to contribute in the NBA right?

Argh. Speights is having a good game, but his FG% is low, because he's just off on a lot of contested underneath shots.

Man...if we had any kind of decent guards...we would've crushed them.

Why did we go away from Speights/Smith towards the end? They carried us the past 2 games...

Speights w/ the assist on the last play? My man crush looms larger with each passing day.

Does Gordon make the roster? Athletically, he's a player, but I think he lacks the skill set to be a SG, and his mentality is not completely a PG. If they bring him in, it has to be as a developmental PG.

Lucky win. Nice play by Gordon in the end, but it never should've been that close.

Overall, SOLID play by Speights.

Smith came out strong after a poor first game. Thad struggled throughout, but I really think he will be fine to start the season at the 3. With better players around him and a lesser role on the offensive end, he will shine and develop even more against NBA teams.

Gordon and Harrington fought for their spot on the team as backup PG IMO. I don't know who wins, but I was liking Harrington more and more as I watched him. Even though it's summer league, he got to the rim at will.

Bavcic surprised me by playing well and hustling. He could be one of those 27-30 year old 10th or 11th men in the future. Where is Ricky Sanchez? Nobody else on the team impressed me at all. Reiner STINKS.

Other than that, we saw Thad and Smith and Speights develop a bit more. We saw them come together and fight for wins. We saw them become more of a team. And we saw some guards fighting for a spot on the team.

I think he likely makes the roster, he's at least going camp. We just need a couple of bodies right now. It would be nice if he could shoot though.

I think that Gordon is an interesting enough prospect to keep around as #15.

And...what a nice final play...Speights with the nice catch-and-dish...setting a tone of WINNING right from Jump-Street.

Me likey.

Who was that ref who called the clear out? Tim Donaghy's relative?

I call for a federal investigation.

Besides, 47 vs 24 free throws.............Kings/Lakers all over again.

That clear out was weak.
