Clippers after Igoudala?

There's a blurb in the wiretap suggesting that the Clips could be making a big money offer to Igoudala...perhaps as revenge?

Is anyone seriously worried about this? I know the Sixers can match any offer Igoudala receives...but at some point you have to say the guy is not worth the 13 mil that is being talked about.

Losing Iggy would give us 8.5 mil in cap space to that we could aquire a SG who could...well, actually shoot. Thad Young is the long term answer at SF and while I like Iggy it wouldn't bother me too much if we lost him - just like it didn't bother me when we lost Clarence Weatherspoon.

This also speaks of the sorry state of the Clips. Brand is a max money player...Iggy is not. They lost a similar player in Magette and are now struggling just to save face.

Bottom line is that Iggy would be foolish not to sign such an offer sheet. I also think that in the long run the Sixers could be better off without him.

If LAC plans to offer Iguodala 5 years/$70MIL, then Ed should do with Dre as he did with K-Mart and the Nuggets a few years ago. Tell the Nuggets you plan to match, work out a sign-and-trade, and get back a $12MIL exception and some first round picks.

With the big exception and extra picks, the Sixers should be able to acquire either a shooting guard who can shoot at a price that doesn't break the team's future. Remember, it was BAD contracts that got into the mess we just got out of... there's no reason to pay Iguodala that kind of money.
