MLE NEXT YEAR

I know this is jumping ahead a little bit but I dont see our shooting problem being fixed this year. I see us slapping a bandaid on it and trying to overcome it with other things. Next year will be our first opportunity to REALLY address that issue. What players do you think will be available that we could realistically court. Im sure once free agents see how much improved we are this year, we will be back in their good graces and Philly will once again be a disireable destination. Targets?

I have no idea who will be available or who the targets could be, but assuming Philly brings back Iguodala and Williams, I can only hope that it is at terms they are OK with. If a team like the Clips offers Iguodala more than they want to spend and Philly still matches, the Sixers could find themselves up against the luxury tax soon enough. In that instance, don't be surprised if Philly has the MLE, but opts not to use it.

http://www.realgm.com/src_freeagents/2009/There's a list of free agents.
We could always bring Korver back

.
Q-rich is another possibility for a shooter.
Maybe even Derek Fisher is Andre Miller bolts.

That list is really, really wrong. Korver is signed for 3 more years. It also shows McGrady and a UFA and he has 2 more seasons. The same applies to Rip Hamilton. I say that list is not correct.

That's pretty demanding. I didn't even think when I posted that list, I just skimmed it real quick while I was at work.
I found another site with listings and this seems more accurate.
Drew Gooden
Allen Iverson
Rasheed Wallace
Lamar Odom
Kobe Bryant (option)
Jason Kidd
Stephon Marbury
Jamal Crawford (player option for 09/10 and 10/11)
Eddy Curry (player option for 09/10, 10/11)
Hedo Turkoglu (player option for 09/10)
Andre Miller
Steve Nash (player option)
Grant Hill
Steve Francis
Ron Artest
Mike Bibby
Carlos Boozer (player option for 09/10)
Mehmet Okur (player option for 09/10)
Marvin Williams (restricted)
Raymond Felton (restricted)
Jason Maxiell (restricted)
Luther Head (restricted)
Danny Granger (restricted)
Andrew Bynum (restricted)
Hakim Warrick (restricted)
Charlie Villanueva (restricted)
Rashard McCants (restricted)
Nate Robinson (restricted)
David Lee (restricted)
Channing Frye (restricted)
Jarrett Jack (restricted)
Francisco "Paco" Garcia (restricted)
Deron Williams (restricted)
Marquis Daniels (team option, unlikely to be picked up)
Desmond Mason
Chris Wilcox
Eric Snow
Brevin Knight
Damon Stoudemire
Smush Parker
Juwan Howard
Antoine Walker (player option for 09/10, 10/11 - likely)
Jason Collins
Bobby Jackson
Malik Rose
Raef LaFrentz
Wally Szczerbiak
I think I took all the players who were extended or signed already off the list, but I'm not certain. I don't really see any knock outs on that list though. Maybe Mccants?

Here's a pretty solid list by ESPN.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/stor ... ents-09-10MLE type players would be Wally Szczerbiak, Donyell Marshall, Grant Hill, SAR, and Korver. However, Korver has an ETO which seems somewhat unlikely to be used.

Man...there are going to be a LOT of disappointed players next summer.
I'll still hold out for AI...unless Nash wants to opt-out and sign with us for the MLE instead.
