So wait wait wait.... Somehow we make a deal for D Jay Bouwmeester... AND THEN wind up with Brendan Shanahan.... this is like a freaking Flyers dream....

So what's going on here... Anyone have any info on this? What's going on here, obviously I missed something... any info?

it would be really tough to get bouwmeester AND open cap room...you first gotta assume that you'll extend jay at around 6.5 to 7 million a year...does that mean florida gambles on gagne coming off a concussion...no way you move briere bc he has a no trade clause and no one else makes enough to get the cap space for shannahan (who id assume even at a discount would be around 3.5 million)

unless gagne+knuble+someone like upshall is heading out, i cant see how this deal gets done...if they could do it however, it would really solidify their team with another top 4 dman to go with coburn, timmonen, and hatcher/jones

Hatcher is only a top 4 dman while playin in the playoffs. During the regular season the game is to fast and open for him to be considered a top 4 dman.
