About what I thought he'd get.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

Biedrins & Monta Ellis are signed to fair contracts. Last year, Kevin Martin from the 2004 class signed up at this level (5/57) The only players above that salary from the 2004 draft are Dwight Howard (max) & Al Jefferson 5/65). Smith & Okafor will probably end up near Jefferson's range but they are bigs. Time for Iguodala & his agent to take a deep breath and sign in the 10 -11 million a year range.

Well...this signing confirms it...

Iguodala is definitely worth 5/70.

NOT.

While I knew Biedrins was going to get this kind of money... I think this is a bit much for someone of his talents. I understand big men get big cash but this feels a lot like Dalembert all over. Biedrins can certainly be a member of a contender but I don't think he can be one of your two best players on a contender and he's being paid like such.

That sure is a lot of money to spend on someone who rides the bench as much as he did with Nelly around. I would have thought he would have wanted out as soon as possible but guess not. Good luck on that bench Biedrins.

Isn't it weird that 3 time all defensive player of the year Marcus Camby is being paid less than Biedrins, who's stats are seriously inflated because he's the only player on the team that cares about rebounding?

And yet, Camby was dumped because he was paid too much?

I don't think it's overpaying, I think that's the market for a big man who's shown the ammount Biedrins has. I thought it was a reasonable deal as soon as I saw it.

Around 10 million is pretty much status quo for big men that average a near double double and get a couple blocks a game.

Taking into account that Biedrins is better than Dalembert and earning approximately the same money, I think he got a reasonable contract. And no, he won't ride the bank since he is the only legit big in Oakland. It was a necessary and good sign by Mullin.
