According to espn.com's sources, Iggy has signed for 6 years, 80 million.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3532139-edited so the link works- also according to Dei Lynum is 72 million or so guaranteed with the rest being performance bonuses. -Scan

6 years/$80MIL..... ok. Well, the man is now being paid like an all-star so hopefully we continue to see him makes strides to become one. I believe Deng's deal could be worth up to $80MIL with incentives so this isn't that bad although it is an average of $13.3MIL for each season.
Obviously he made the right decision to turn down the 5 year/$57MIL extension last summer.

He better average 25/6/6 for the rest of his career or I will be on his ass every night.
80 million...what a joke.

Hopefully there are some incentives to this deal just like Deng's, Biedrins', and Bogut's deals.

Dei Lynam was just on CSN and she basically said that the contract is structured closely to Deng's contract. She believed that only 71-72 million was guaranteed, the rest were based on incentives.

6/80 is slightly more than I had hoped. I'm still not convinced Miller/Iguodala/Young work as a perimeter 3. At least it's not starting at 12 million, though.
Breakdown:
$10,561,500.00
$11,670,457.50
$12,779,415.00
$13,888,372.50
$14,997,330.00
$16,106,287.50
Total: $80,003,362.5

I honestly hope all 80 is guaranteed, just to spite the people that are angry over an extra 2 million dollars per year.

Dei Lynum says it's more like Dengs deal with $72 million or so guarenteed and some extra in performance bonuses.

Well, that's a little better and I suppose if he gets closer to $80 million, then we will all wind up happy because he will have reached his incentives. At a similar guarantee to Deng and Okafor, I think it's reasonable.

Thats what I was thinking. If he earns those incentives, it must mean he and the team has taken another step in moving this team forward, and in that case, he probably deserves the money.

With the team that has now been put together, after the Iggy signing, the 76ers have to win at least 1 title. Let's move on to signing Theo Ratliff.

I can live with that contract. I always knew they would sign him, but still I feel relieved it is over!
I'm so pumped for the season to start!

Raps fan here. Congrads on locking up a key player of yours. That's a hefty price, but I'm not so sure he doesn't deserve it. If incentives are involved, even better. Either way, Iggy will earn his pay cheque, even if he doesn't average 25 a night. I've always wanted to meet Rob Babcock face to face and show him how I feel about picking the big dumb brazilian over Iggy. Should make for a very competitive Atlantic division. Good luck

Wait a minute, didn't Iggy want 6/75 and the talks were off by Stefanski and Iggy. I guess this means Ed decided that Iggy was better then what was available. Yes, I am against paying Iguodala this money. I have been since this discussion began. But like all of you, I am now glad we can speak of the basketball aspects of the game now. I believe this to be a good scoring basketball team. The test will be how we perform against the zone defense. If Iguodala has ever worked on those handles of his. We now have the optimal 3 guys to break the zone: Miller, Iggy, Thad. That would compensate for a lack of a jumpshot.
And it's really been a while since an NBA Starting lineup had such inside power. I only think of the Dynasty Lakers of the 21st century and the Spurs. Possibly the Rockets as well.

Thank heavens this is finally over...even the bickering posts only lasted mid way through the first page. Very reasonable deal given the market this off season. Sure everyone would like to see it for less money, but that's not realistic. I'm just not sure what realistic option people would have been happier with.
Let's move on...get a few bigs, and they are ready to start the season.
