Would you guys trade Reggie Evans for Damon Jones and a 2nd round pick?

The Sixers Board has a Fantasy Trade Thread stickied at the top for these sorts of discussions.

Before this gets locked, I'll say that I would strongly consider it if Ed Stefanski believes Andre Miller will not re-sign here. Jones is an expiring contract and would eliminate $5MIL in salary off of our books which when combined with Miller's expiring could enable the Sixers to have somewhere around $9MIL in cap space next summer. That amount could be used to acquire a new PG to play alongside Iguodala, Young, Brand, and Dalembert.

Herb Kohl is a notorious cheap skate. I honestly don't see him dealing an expiring contract for an additional $10 million and 2 years in salary committment for a back up player who won't help him sell tickets.

Although, even if Miller and Jones walk, the Sixers would only have about $5 million in cap space when salary increases and next year's first round pick are factored in.

I put the cap at around $60MIL next season and the Sixers' salaries at $51.4 without Miller and Evans. That's a difference of $8.6MIL. Now if you want to factor in $1.2MIL for a rookie, that's fine. That puts the Sixers at around $7.4MIL in cap space.

So really, this move is about two things....

1) Do you want a little extra cash to spend on a free agent next summer should Andre Miller walk (MLE versus $7.4MIL)?
and
2) Do you want to open up more playing time for Marreese Speights this season?

With the addition of Brand, Speights, and Ratliff to Sam Dalembert and the injured Jason Smith, I do believe Evans is extremely expendable. Last year when our frontcourt consisted of Dalembert, Calvin Booth, 2 rookies, and garbage... Evans was needed. Now he's not. That said, I don't think any team is going to give an expiring contract up for him.
